It won't happen. The amount of people knocking about Motherwell wearing Old Firm tops is ridiculous (for Motherwell read most towns in Scotland).

A start would be to get a TV deal which isn;t an old firm TV season ticket, give other clubs exposure. A fairer distribution of TV money too

There’s been some fantastic results, but you just don’t want to see them.

Liverpool 1-1 Hearts

Rijeka 0-3 Aberdeen

Groningen 0-2 Aberdeen

Didn't St J give Galatarasay a game last season?

Just because you’re ignorant to them, doesn’t mean they didn’t happen.

Hearts result aside those should be a given. Maybe I’m just old.

The current deal on offer from Sky is eye wateringly bad. The clubs would be mad to sign up to it!

They can't see passed SKY TV, their is zero imagination to the current SPFL board. As long as the deal is slightly more cash than last time they will accept it no matter what.

Rijeka hasn’t lost at home in 10 years with Aberdeen hardly being the most formidable opponent they had faced, they have no right to go to The Netherlands to convince beat a team and St Johnstone should be a given against a regular group stage team in Galatarasay?

Im sorry, but everything you’ve said is just utter nonsense, or maybe you just think Scottish teams should be competing like they did in the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s, which will never regularly happen again, the gulf is just too big.

To be honest I can see it only getting worse as basically this was engineered as a two horse race about 30 years back.  In the current cost of living crisis folk are genuinely going to question the value of going to watch the other ten clubs in the league - genuinely what is the point?

The same will happen in the EPL but they've at least got a massive tv deal to cushion the blow for the cannon fodder whereas a number of Championship clubs could be fucked - only have to look at some of attendances in the EFL cup to see folk voting with their feet lower down the food chain.

Stoke are pretty decent value at £50 for an adult and two kids in the family section but how many folk are going to be affording many of them through the winter and spring?

It's more money but less per game.  Doncaster has a red neck even putting it in front of the clubs for consideration.

Considering they didn’t fulfil they’re quota by 4 or 5 games last season, they’ll probably struggle to do even more for everyone, it simply means every Celtic/Rangers away game will be on tv.

Not Galatasaray but i’m fairly sure they beat St Johnstone. Aberdeen are a bigger club than the others mentioned.

The OF probably don’t use the Scottish market enough but then again they tend to have to pay a bit more than the true value.
Why Dundee Utd bought that keeper is a bit of a mystery. I’d have thought someone like Robbie McCrorie would have done a better job (even if a loan).

Right across the board, including the OF, there is not enough faith in Scottish players, which means the clubs aren’t functioning properly.

From a Utd point of view there must be disappointment about the two Aussies they've signed. The keeper looks shaky and the left back was way off the pace. Neither looked like an experienced international player, tho I believe the left back hadn't played for a while.

Sounds like Sky are nervous about the introduction of ViaPlay into the UK/Ireland market and are trying to get ahead of the game by drawing up this deal which would run through to 2029. It's not the best though. As has been said above, SPFL board and the clubs need to realise they are worth more than the chump change Sky throw their way. Will they? Probably not.

Via play would make sense, they already have the cups and the internationals. It could be the home of Scottish football. The next stage would be proper marketing and not just turning it into the old firm season ticket. Wishful thinking, I know

It would be good if it came to pass. The Old Firm home games should be shown sometimes for appearances sake.

It’s an absolute disgrace the tv deal , for a start there should be contractual penalties for failing to meet the quota of games .

the fact that there are Edinburgh and Dundee derbies last season not  being shown live is a disgrace .

you also never get fixtures live involving any combination of Hibs , hearts, Aberdeen and Dundee United outwith the derby ever shown live either is beyond contempt .

this new quota will get the full quota of the rangers and Celtic away roadshow quota fitted in as well

Mon the PSV..💪

That’s a bit ironic as Celtic wouldn’t be in the group stages if it wasn’t for Rangers success in the last couple of seasons.
You should really be thanking them.

2 cheeks etc etc

1-1 at HT. PSV score first with a pretty simple goal from a corner and Rangers equalise 3 minutes later with a really well worked goal from Colak.

Good game so far with the ref doing a great job of letting them get on with it as much as possible. Look to be 2 pretty evenly matched teams with the boy Gakpo the standout for PSV.

They both need each other more than any fan would like to admit. When rangers died, celtic had shite home crowds and loads of other sides won trophies.

Still early days admittedly but at the moment it does look like they've signed a pretty decent and consistent striker in Colak.

If McInnes was offered the job as manager of Rangers U23s I bet he'd describe it as "a dream come true for me".

Had the Old Firm been included in that Super League bollocks that was attempted by Europe's big clubs last year, a considerable amount of their fans would have supported it, they'll deny it but they would.
