Doolan has done really well for a rookie manager. It's still early days but he seems to really "get it"; his tactics last night were spot on and the players clearly want to play for him. But we are seriously lacking in the striker department and that has cost us in every game against them this season. Defensive errors cost us. slasher Posted April 9, 2023 Share Posted April 9, 2023 Strange game that! Early in the 2nd half at 1-1 I thought we might actually lose it, then at 3-1 I thought we were going to hammer them again. Clearly Mooy was miles off it and we badly missed Hatate in the midfield but Iwata made a big difference when he came on. The bottom line is we got the job done without being anywhere near our best. The usual suspects (Kent & Morelos)were anonymous for the huns and apart from Tavernier their only attacking threat was Tillman who does an extraordinary amount of diving about the place. His attempt to get Johnston sent off for a perfectly executed tackle was quite the thing. He lay there for about a minute while play raged on before finally giving it up 😂 If the huns go with the same again at Hampden I’d be pretty confident we’ll win again, I can’t see us playing as badly next time. We are only learning from the masters of “we demand clarification.” I’ve watched it a few times. It’s debatable in terms of making a stand on it. However if that had been at the other end then I think there would be questions raised in parliament about it. Then the Tillman divin machine, please. Our boy Oh could have had a shout for a penalty claim, you don't see us moaning to the SFA.
