Trying to enjoy this tournament without thinking about our abject failure in qualification but it's extremely difficult.

Anyway just watched Spain dismantle Finland after an early fright. They really are a gifted team but Putellas being out is a huge loss.

The Germans up next tonight, historically Europe's strongest side...

Nah, can't watch this for two reasons: 1) Our absence, 2) The BBC's barely-restrained Englandlove.

If you're thinking of switching it on, don't. England are currently 7-0 up against Norway and there's still about 25 minutes left.

Norway have been outclassed. I thought they were a good side in the women's game too (they're not a bad side in the men's game either).

8-0 to England. First goal was an incorrectly awarded penalty, Ellen White's dive was embarrassing and she should have been booked. Shocking defending from Norway at times and they just fell to pieces, mentally shot. On the other hand some of the England passing and movement was very good, particularly by Beth Mead.

Know it wasn’t particularly PC but maybe Kenny Shiels had a point that women need to react better to conceding as they can be susceptible to conceding in quick succession.  The fact it was a blatant dive and VAR did f**k all about it really seemed to knock them off their stride then chuck in 30,000 folk baying for goals and they just crumpled.

Enjoyed the tournament up to now but they need to stamp shite out like that dive yesterday, and the commentator calling it ‘clever’, because if I wanted to watch cynical win at all costs football would just stick to watching the blokes.

During the matches do they compare the women's records to the men's records like they do in the print media?

For example this week there were articles about Ellen White breaking Wayne Rooneys scoring record.

Ellen White, the lioness’s version of the cheat Harry Kane.

Yeah need to stop doing that.

Commentator 20 minutes into Germany v Spain women managed to squeeze a reference to 66 in too somehow 🤔

Northern Ireland have been based in Southampton from the start and are staying in the hotel 2 minutes from my door.

Ever since the tournament started, I've seen Northern Irish fans (mostly men) stoating about the city in their shirts and flags.

They're playing England on Friday and St. Mary's is apparently sold out (32'000).

Spain through to face England with a late goal v Denmark. I know they're missing a couple of key players but they haven't looked that great (says it all about our standing that they've just beaten us 10-0 on aggregate 😕).

Far from a connoisseur of the women’s game but pleasantly surprised at the standard of the England v Spain game.

I've seen a bit of it. England got lucky with the goal, should've gone to VAR

Spain fucked it. Ran rings around England for about an hour then an inexplicable tactical switch from their coach allowed the English more space and the inevitable followed. They must be kicking themselves!

Very much like their male counterparts. Ran England off the pitch for a very large part of the game. Really enjoyed the game. Hoping the Germans or the French can deliver the killer blow.
