First world cup in 28 years. We were begging for that before he took the job. I agree. It's through Clarkes reign that got (certainly myself in honesty) and I know for sure other's, back into football. I know for a lot of the time it's painful to watch Scotland, but it has brought a little bit of excitement back into the national team over his years. Quote
kumnio Posted June 28 Author Posted June 28 He did ok, however he should never have been handed a ridiculous new contract. Hopefully his loyal backers can move on to the new manager and we can progress. From ‘Scotland greatest ever manager’ to thank God he has gone. Appoint Killie managers, get Killie results. Quote

Agreed and hopefully those who pissed and moaned for years can move on to a new manager and we can progress too but if we don't....... I am not being entirely serious here but it does work both ways Quote

Some of us were here regardless. I simply want the best for Scotland. The guy in charge is irrelevant. Quote

I would hazard a guess that some clubs might have enquired about him during his Scotland tenure, especially after we qualified for the second euros. The press always get a heads up about things like this. There has never even been a murmur of any club being interested Quote

Even during this qualifying campaign, I got quite an empty feeling after we ground out results having watched another team attempt to play football and end up on the receiving end of a defeat or draw against us Quote
DoonTheSlope Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Any chance we could get the admins to change the title to Steve Clarkes Fucked Off Quote

The press know fuck all they just make up shit. Quote

After we qualified for the euro 24 I think there would have been a few clubs interested in him. There was constant chat in here about how long we would be able keep him for and how great it would be if he stayed for another campaign or two. Ppl in here forget how celebrated Clarke was in the first 4 years of his tenure. He was considered the saviour of our national team. I think hes a honest guy who wouldnt go around bragging but if I had to bet my life on it I reckon at least 1 or 2 clubs in England showed serious interest in him during his spell with us but we might never find out unless someone pushes him or the sfa to tell us. You honestly think no clubs showed an interest in him over his entire tenure? Quote

DoonTheSlope Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Let’s clear one thing up here. We never qualified for 3 back to back tournaments under Clarke that I’ve seen a few times now Let’s not try and rewrite history eh Quote
