Especially with covid and the advent of AI's using engagement tactics based around outrage. It's been getting warned about in computer science circles for a decade now as well. The algorithms must not be advanced enough to see that it's now down to the 12 of us. Also, the older St. Petersburg trolls (as well as Putin, Salmond, Soros etc) are too old to use that new fangled social media stuff. Thplinth is a Russian babooshka with 6 weans. A guy called Jimmy ( yes, Jimmy ….) kindly offered to set up a new board , there was an open invitation on here to everyone at the time. Only a few folk signed up though. It kept going for a while, was a good laugh, but I struggled to have time to read both boards. As you can see there has been nothing on it for a while. Bobster Posted March 2, 2022 Share Posted March 2, 2022 It was no secret. The people that ran this board said they were closing it because of costs or some nonsense. There was a thread on here where people put forward ideas for keeping it open. Guy called Jimmy offered to take it over and as an illustration of how easy it would be, he set up a sort of test site. People that had commented on the thread were asked if they wanted to come on board and chuck ideas around and Jimmy also put an open invite on here asking if anybody else wanted to contribute. Jimmy was in discussions with the people that ran this board and it looked like he was taking it on, then last minute they said they were handing it on to someone else. Great news, the board was to stay alive! From my point of view, I’d got to like the people on the Scottish Forum so I carried on chatting to them until eventually they all drifted off. There was no need to promote it because the TAMB had survived which was its sole purpose. There were technical problems and I got locked out of TAMB, then forgot my password.
