Group runners up

Played 9, won 6, drawn 2, lost 1.

With the draws against our main second place rivals and the one loss against an absurdly good Denmark side.

I really don't think anyone at the start of this campaign could have dreamed of these results after 9 games.

It is superb what this team have achieved. We really need to recognize it for once. Well done indeed.

We absolutely did everything expected of us and more. (We were never finishing ahead of Denmark...)

The whole play off situation is and always was completely out of our hands, who we get, seedings, permutations due to the results of other groups etc etc... that is an entirely new chapter.

For this chapter though... we did everything and more. Oh yeah.

I say let the chips fall where they may now.

I fear no one. If we get wales we risk getting pumped by wales.

If we get italy we have the chance to pump italy.

What do you prefer? (sorry no idea if wales or italy are real options just what ifs)

Two home games and you never know

Absolutely. I just meant that we can’t expect to get anyone that we would consider easy to beat in the World Cup playoffs.

Whoever we get will be a good team. I would sooner avoid Italy though.

If we had Kenny dalglish up front I would take on Wales as I think in other departments we are decent. Not a great back three but not bad.

id probably fancy us against Poland at Hamden.

we need key players fit - Gordon, tierney, Mcginn, gilmour and Patterson

That will indeed be key, I think we now have a few almost 'world class' players and what will ultimately determine our fate is if these players are fit and available for the play offs
