Mind and turn yer data off an aw, just been telt by Virgin the charge £12.50 per Mb!!!

Local sim it is...

I'm a complete technospazz when it comes to anything IT related. How does a local sim work? Is it just a case of taking the sim out of my phone and putting the local one in??? (Honestly, despite having a degree in engineering I'm useless at IT - my surround sound for my tv is proper Gucci but it's still not connected up to it...11 years now!!!)

29 Leu, 100 GB.

Just switch it over, call a number on the packet, and your good to go. Pretty much unlimited internet for £1.20

Unless you are locked into a carrier.

I have a year to run on my Vodafone contract. Because of that I can only put a Vodafone sim.

I did read the practice is ending soon.

The UK's mobile networks are to be forbidden from selling phones locked to their services from December 2021.

Regulator Ofcom said unlocking handsets could often be a complicated process, and this was discouraging owners from switching providers at the end of their contracts.

The networks have previously suggested that locking devices helps deter theft and fraud.

But the watchdog noted some companies had already abandoned the practice.

Among those companies affected are:

  • BT and its EE mobile division
  • Vodafone
  • Tesco Mobile

O2, Sky, Three and Virgin already only sell unlocked handsets.”

My old man is going to do that. He has a new iPhone 13 that physically has two slots for two sims, simultaneously.

You can switch between them with a tap of a button.
