People wanting to alter the whole team set-up and dynamics to accommodate a player who has been generally unimpressive for us.....get real. At present our best side is:- Gordon Hendry Hanley Tierney Patterson Robertson McGregor Gilmour McGinn Dykes Adams It’s my opinion that he’s been generally unimpressive for 2 reasons, he’s been played out of position at times, and when he’s played in midfield he has played a “holding” role which isn’t his game either. I think played in midfield alongside Gilmour and McGregor we will see him produce better performances that justify his inclusion in the team. The fact we've actually got some depth on the bench is great. We're certainly in a better place than we were a couple of years ago and the young players can only improve😁👍

Patterson 7, terrible first half but second was excellent. Hendry 6.5 fairly solid Mctominay 7 poor first half but better in the second Tierney 7 decent overall Robertson 7 same Gilmour 8 ran the midfield especially second half Mcgregor 7.5 same Mcginn 8 excellent goal and really pulls us out of the shit with his ability to score goals Adams 6 average but had some decent moments Dykes 6.5 redeemed himself with that goal which was well taken, poor pen, needs to stop taking them. At the very least he needs to stop going down the middle with every single penalty. Does he not realise that keepers/goalkeeping coaches look at this sort of thing? Starting to join the Mctominay isn't that great for Scotland club. Mind you the he isn't that great for Man United club is far bigger. Be much happier with a Hendry Hanley and Tierney back three. Gilmour, McGinn and Robertson are a joy to watch. Three players with ability that won't accept defeat.probably give all three an 8+. Would give every one else a 7 or better bar Gordon. Keeper position is a major worry. The amount of the ball Gilmour saw was incredible. What is it you think Gordon did wrong yesterday? The same thing he does wrong in just about every game he plays. He almost never comes off his line at set pieces. Everything in the 6 yard box should be his and he should make sure everybody knows that everything in the 6 yard box is his. It's been his major weakness ever since he came back from injury. His distribution isn't exactly great either. He might be the best we've got at present but it's still a weak position for us.
Caledonian Craig
For me I'd rate them like this:- Gordon 6 - No real chance with the goals and that aside it was quite a quiet night apart from his second half save. Patterson 7 - At fault for the first goal but he got stronger as the game went on and we looked a threat down both wings in the second half. Hendry 7 - Gave away the foul for the free-kick they scored with but made amends by flicking on the McGinn corner for McTominay to score. McTominay 6.5 - Poor first half. His ball retention was rank but got better as the game went on. Tierney 7 - Linked up so well with Robertson for our first goal and was always a threat in the second half. Robertson 8 - Great play to assist for McGinn and what a peach of a cross for Dykes' equaliser. McGregor 7 - Solid in midfield in the holding role allowing Gilmour to play creatively. Looks comfortable in the current midfield set-up. Gilmour 9 - Fantastic. He makes us tick and his creative eye for a pass and calmness on the ball is unique to him. McGinn 8.5 - Below par until that magical goal and the second half he should have had a second. What an engine he has though. A player who you always feel something could happen when he is on the ball. Adams 6 - A quiet match and had a great chance in the opening minute and hit it at the keeper. He'll have better nights for us. Dykes 7 - A real mixed bag. Awful penalty but showed the heart to not hide and scored a cracker but should have also scored with that header. Linked up well in our attacks in the second half. Christie (Sub) 6 - Replaced Adams and had some real bright moments. Set up McGinn for that great chance which he spurned. Cooper (Sub) 5 - Not on long enough to make an impression.
