Fairly dull quarters draw thought we might have got a Dundee derby.

Is it three games on telly in next round we know two of them.

Dundee United v Hibs on a Thursday may be a third TV game.

Correct, the TV games are Rangers on the Tuesday, Celtic on the Wednesday and a ross of a coin for the other 2 games, because no one cares about them, it’s all about the big 2 🙄

Could virtually copy and paste my post from the last game. Magnificent in the first half but the second showed our glaring need for reinforcements.

The standard of refereeing in Scotland is absolutely fuckin abysmal. Two stonewall red cards not given, a perfectly good goal disallowed and a stonewall penalty denied in just 3 domestic games so far. 🙄

Edit to add, we were absolutely right to dump Craig Gordon and there's no chance he is Scotlands best keeper!

Agreed

Glass better learn from this, making some changes is good for the squad but 7 changes is taking the piss. We aren't that good yet

Gurr for Ramsay was the worst change, Ramsay is our most promising talent and one of our best performers this season, gurr is nowhere near an adequate replacement for a vital match.

To be fair to Gurr, he’s looked decent when he’s played, but he had a shocker yesterday, can’t believe he lasted the 90 minutes. The goal was a shocker, but he probably should’ve been sent off before that anyway.

I don't think Gurr has looked good at all and yesterday was beyond laughable, glass should have taken him off but he kept him on for some bizarre reason.

Ramsay is our first choice RB and should stay that in important matches like Sunday.

Aberdeen should be capable of making that many changes for a game against Raith.

Ive said it loads of times on here. Aberdeen and other teams like Hearts / Hibs etc have a mentality problem. They dont have the arrogance / drive to perform at the required level. Not 1 Raith player would make it into the changed Aberdeen team.

Aberdeen were so comfortable in the first half after then initial 10 minute 100mph football at the start.

Sides with a strong mentality go on and kill the game. Guys like McCrorie / Mcginn and Hayes would have reguarly beat lower league opposition playing with similar standard players in the cup for the Old Firm.

Some of the fringe players have shown they’re not good enough so need to be moved on, maybe some are still in the comfort mode & have the Mcinnes mind set of playing not to lose as opposed to playing to win. Both times Glass has made lots of changes to the team we have struggled so he needs to learn that 6 or 7 changes are to much.

I agree but aberdeen aren't there yet. We've still got some lacking in the right mentality and in some cases ability.

Just seen the highlights...Gordon should have done better with the third goal but other than that he made several good saves and kept Hearts in it. 3-2 flattered them.

It's a Catch-22 situation and a jigsaw.

Aberdeen were playing on three fronts with the window closing on August 31st.

We need the signings now, but the 'leftover' players in (say) England won't be available until later in the month.

We also won't be able to justify the funds for new signings unless we progress.

So we have to try and progress with what we have now to get the money to sign the better players (that we need now).

Spot on with the Catch 22, however I feel this really is the time to spend to try and progress rather than stick to the usual let's hope we can progress in order to spend! Certainly can't go 4-4-2 with just 2 centre halves & 2 strikers all season!

It's like the League, you need to win it (get the big Euro cash) in order to have a chance to win it, lord knows how you ever solve it!

Agreed, however we'd need to have any new signings registered 48 hours before the game on Thursday (which means a deal would already have to be all but done).

We'll also get a better selection of players to choose from AFTER the Qarabag tie (which I realise doesn't help now).

Get fortunate with home grown youth (McKenna, Ramsay, McKenzie) buy youth (Ferguson, Cosgrove) then sell for megabucks... and repeat.

Regular Cup runs and progressing in Europe are also key.
