McBride scored for Blackburn in a friendly , promoted to the first team, was nominated for reserve player of the year in the prem 2, what was won the year before by Billy gilmour, and is a striker.

Tell us more about this guy?

Didn't make the breakthrough at Celtic. 20yr old and just had a very good season in the U23s in England. Interesting if he starts scoring for Blackburn...

Just checked stats. 12 goals and 6 assists in 17 games.

Interesting.

He’s 6’3 also I see after doing some research so Steve Clarke will probably soon cap him so we can hoof the ball up to him.

Rangers haven't started well in preseason but Stephen Kelly has really impressed against Thistle and Tranmere. He and Bassey have probably been the only players who have impressed.

We have games coming up against Arsenal, Blackpool, Real Madrid and Brighton. If he can continue to impress in those games, then he could stake a claim to join the first team.

Kelly turned 21 a couple of months ago. He has fantastic technique, passing and vision. He was an attacking mid who has dropped deeper, at first he was the typical attacking player playing deep. But his loan at Ross County seems to have massively helped improve the defensive side of his game. John Hughes seems to have massively helped develop his game on the defensive side.

Kelly still has a long way to go but I can see a lot of the player Steven Davis has become in him.

We'll be playing 4-3-2-1; Dykes and Gallagher to flick it on for McBride to heider it in.  👍

Good to see Kerr Smith got a runout for them too

Didn’t see the game but 5 players 18 or under played a large part of the game. He’s only 16 and started at CH. Chris Mochrie, just turned 18, apparently played very well when he came on. Club has high hopes for him and Kerr Smith

They are doing great things with their youth development. Dundee United & Rangers seem to be leading the way at the moment on that front but Utd are not shy of playing them even at 16 at centre back! Brilliant.

Apparently release clause in his contract (signed a few months back) with minimum sell on value which increases based on first team games played. If club meets the asking price United obliged to sell if player wants to go. Interest recently from loads of EPL clubs but he wanted to stay and if he’s getting first team games at that age, then seems a good (career) decision.

Rangers v Arsenal today showed Gerrard has a plan for playing both Patterson and Tav; he gave an assurance that neither would be stuck on the bench for long. Also - Kelly, Middleton impressed and Scott Wright looks a player - but don't ask me what his position is.

How did he play them both today? Was here any suggestion as to were they played to suggest what the plan is.
