Not sure about the accuracy of that post, not interested in fact checking it TBH.

I think that people are generally annoyed that we are paying too much tax and not getting enough in return, that's certainly how I feel as do a few other that I know.

Various governments have fucked up this entire century, the Tories austerity didn't seem to do anything apart from reduce public services and their pals tax bills. Labour seem to think that chucking about money is a good idea.

Governments should be required to balance the books, we can't spend more than we earn, it's a complete clusterfuck. If that means various spending cuts, then so be it. I also believe that the Government need to go after tax avoidance and evasion more seriously, that means that Amazon, Starbucks, Vodaphone etc 

I earn roughly the UK average wage, topped up by a reasonable bonus. Last month my bonus was just over £1300, thanks to increased Tax, NI, Pension and Student Loan repayment, I only managed to keep half of it. I see no benefit from the increased Taxation and NI that the Government gets, I think its easy to get annoyed at this.

That is horrendous.
I haven’t been actively reading up on this because, as with so many other news stories, there is a load of shite out there and the political angle makes it worse . But my understanding was that he drove quite a distance to her house. If he was driving with a view to murder , most  sane folk would have talked themselves out of it by then, never mind battering an elderly woman 21 times. Strange that he took her wallet,  was he trying to make it look like a burglary .

I'm not going to defend every spending decision but a couple of things. You'd have thought money being spent on English lessons was a good thing in order to help people integrate. Also he's basically saying the UK should stop all refugees as in my understanding there are next to no legal routes for asylum seekers to arrive in the UK. That's a position that I disagree with but understand that others hold it, it just seems Farage is dishonest in not being open that he would refuse refugee status to anyone.

I also doubt that most asylum seekers are 'living a life of leisure', I'm sure most of them would prefer to get their status settled and get on with living a new life.

I know for a fact that charities work with governments to provide gardening classes as I know someone who does it. Its a sort of community occupational therapy  ,they get shown how to grow vegetables etc, people in deprived areas get this help too its not just immigrants . But you wont hear Nige wittering on about that. 
They try to fill these people’s days with something productive but some folk just point fingers and yell woke at every opportunity.

Pretty much agree with that. 

I see Burnham is abolishing VAT on electricity bills . Sounds a vote winner but already his party have the knives out saying it hasn’t been properly costed. My instincts tell me we could have another Liz Truss fiasco in time. Hope I am wrong.

Martin Lewis reckons the energy price cap could rise by about 5% in the autumn due to an increase in wholesale prices. If that happens it will wipe out any benefit from the cut in the rate of VAT.

Anas Sarwar is rumoured to have been offered a post in Burnham's government as a junior minister in the Department for Business, Innovation, Science, and Trade! 🤣🤣

As he isn't an elected MP he'll be given a life peerage and stuck in the House of Lords - an institution he once claimed he wished to abolish. He'll have to resign his seat at Holyrood, meaning, as he's a regional list MSP, that Monica Lennon will return to HR, as she's next on the Labour list.

I can't say I'm surprised he's been given a peerage, assuming the rumour is true, especially after he did his bit to knife Starmer in the back; but to actually give a job and leave him in charge of something - the man is a gibbering moron! 🤣

Slightly less by a couple of pennies. Over a month you won't even save enough money to buy a takeaway away coffee or get one meal deal from the supermarket.

I'm not bemoaning anything that will help family finances but the way some Labour ministers have been going on about this, you'd think that the King of the North had lifted millions out of poverty. 

Nothing on assisting people who rely primarily on oil or gas either.

If I was a semi-ambitious backbench MP who knew a bit about one or more of business, innovation, science or trade, and had actually had the gumption to go out and fight to be elected to the HoC, I might be slightly annoyed that this oaf, who has overseen two of Labour's worst results in Scotland (despite money being poured into their campaign), who isn't even an MP and couldn't even win his own constituency seat in Holyrood, is being dropped into a cushy government post like the start of the Mr Bean title sequence.

He has none of the qualifications for the business or trade part of the department's function - it was his faither then his brothers who ran the family business - or the science part, or the innovation part (unless being the first Scottish Labour leader to lose two Holyrood elections on the bounce and still retain his job counts). It's a classic example of cronyism!
