I can't imagine being that wealthy where all you (appear to) care about is personal tax liability and not the impact of those taxes on essential services or infrastructure. 🤔 Meanwhile I can't decide if Burnham is Labour's version of Boris Johnson and runs to the front of the crowd declaring "follow me"...I don't know enough about him though... Saint4805 Posted June 6 Posted June 6 (edited) This is an example of how Starmer is failing miserably. He hides away and lets an aide tweet their disapproval when he should be doing a hard hitting live address to the nation on the steps of Downing Street name checking Farage, Robinson and Vance for weaponising this boy's tragic murder and stoking division despite the family's request not to. He's got nothing to lose and will be gone before the next election so he may as well enhance his legacy by showing he has balls and a backbone by calling out these shit stirring scumbags. Vance hates Europe and the feeling is mutual and so it's easy way to win brownie points. I thought he spoke well on question time last night but I don’t trust him…. I have the absolute fear that labour will raise capital gains tax and reduce the tax feee element of pensions. my first memory of him was getting pelters from the Liverpool fans. He is slimy, not all that clever, but clearly has an enormous ego. He's adopted the same 'man of the people' act that Jim Murphy, and, laughably, Anas Sarwar both attempted and has, to give him some credit, performed the routine more successfully than that pair of oddballs. That kind of superficiality might get you over the line as a regional mayor but you need more than just a carefully crafted public image to be an even semi-competent PM. Look at Boris Johnson - his bumbling posh-boy buffoon routine was soon overlooked when he became PM and the public, rightly, demanded he be serious and actually lead. Burnham seems to be coming from a soft-left position politically but unlike a presidential candidate he can't just impose his own policies on a party that was elected on a manifesto that's since become a programme for government. By rights, if he is successful in firstly winning the Makerfield seat and then ultimately taking over as leader of the Labour party, he should call a GE. The trouble there is, I am not sure he or his party would win a GE in the near future! Quote

The trouble there is, I am not sure he or his party would win a GE in the near future! there are a core of lefties in the labour party, typically Fabians, that want to redistribute wealth. The wont go for an overt wealth tax but the sneaky fucks are already bringing in policies that effect that… mansion tax, including pension wealth in inheritance tax. just waiting for them to try to bring down the amount you can extract from your psneion tax free, and increase capital gains tax and means test state pension. it would have the opposite effext they want - it would simply remove ambition and level down. torsten bell, im looking at you. Malcolm Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Attempted beheading in the UK last night. There is a video circulating showing a man attempting to behead another man in the street in north Belfast last night. He was arrested - I have not seen any reporting of this on the BBC as yet. Quote
Malcolm Posted June 9 Posted June 9 there is video footage of this horrific event on YouTube. I warn you that it’s very graphic. There is speculation that the victim was stabbed in the eyes and throat severed. It will be a miracle if he survives from what I can see. the attacker is shouting something in a foreign language while holding a knife aloft. Quote
scotlad Posted June 9 Posted June 9 FFS 🙁 Of all the cities in the UK has that one not seen enough senseless violence?? That's just horrific! Quote

Malcolm Posted June 9 Posted June 9 the police have released a statement saying the attacker is believed to be Somalian in his 30s. I’m sick of it. Our government has imported these murdering savages. Get these cunts out our country. Quote
