Just hope he's okay and makes a full and swift recovery. There's been several players who've had CovidĀ and have suffered consequences for months afterwards.

I honestly donā€™t think he has it. I would t be surprised that the next round of tests and heā€™ll test negative.

I got locked out of this board for a few weeks or so, I see that other people had the same problem. I got back on one day and read someĀ posts (mainly posts from someone shoehorning Rangers into every thread)Ā and thought - not missing much here, Iā€™ll not bother anymore. Then I came on for aĀ look after Gilmour tested positive (gutted about it but trust that ClarkeĀ will do the best he can, personally Iā€™d go with Fleck)Ā and saw this.

Tidy is probably the nicest, least insultingĀ and fairest poster on here. You have no self awareness at all and seem like a veryĀ arrogant, self centred individual. In fact, if Iā€™m honest,Ā youā€™re a cnut.

:moon:Ā

Well thanks TT. If I had known you could be this complimentary I would have instructedĀ Ā the mods to let you back on weeks ago šŸ˜‰

He been in bubble, with the squad for a good couple of weeks, how's he the only one who's got it. Doesn't make sense

That has baffled me a bit as well. Could have been a hotel staff member? Or were they closer to their families than we thought.

players have been on buses / planes / hotels / stadiums / press conferences <etc>

whilst I agree the whole episode is a little odd the idea of a "bubble" is a bit false.Ā

my best guess, on limited information, is he might have gone to socialise with his Chelsea pals after the game ?

In the absence of any insight, letā€™s speculate wildly shall we. Ā  Any number of places he couldā€™ve been infected just like everyone else who catchesĀ it,Ā these guys arenā€™t hermetically sealed.

irrespective of where he caught it it is certainly odd that Chillwell / Mount are isolating rather than none of our squad.

however best not dwell on that as we cant afford to lose any other players.

The players were talking within 1m of each other for around 20mins in the tunnel after the game apparently. This would class them as a close contact within the PHE guidelines.

PHE are still investigating but the FA have asked them to isolate as a precaution until the investigation has been completed.Ā

IĀ heard on BBC this morning that PHE will investigate all the players GPS info that they wear (which is where they will have picked up him, Chilwell and Mount being so close for a sustained period of time)Ā and watch training videos as part of their investigation.

Due to the incubation period it's entirely possible that he caught it from someone prior to joining with the squad and has only turned a positive test now.

They are also staying in a hotel that is open to the public. Could have caught it from anywhere.

Seems like the pair were chatting with Gilmour in the tunnel pre match for an extended period which is why they are isolating.

Exactly, which is why speculation and looking for someone doing something wrong, either the player for being irresponsible or the staff for not following the correct protocolsĀ is completely unhelpful.

You would have thought that after 18 months of this people would realise that short of locking yourself up in a sealed room with no contact whatsoever with the outside world that all you can do is to lessen and mitigate the risk.

For me the final stage in any risk mitigation process is review/evaluate and then the cycle starts again.Ā  We're on our third positive now so it's getting beyond the bounds of bad luck.Ā  I'm not going decry the lad for yapping to his mates for 20 minutes ahead of the biggest game of his life but at the same time it doesn't really suggest, albeit in isolation but viewed with 2 previous instances, thatĀ a sufficiently stringent risk management culture has been embedded either.Ā Ā

That is a fair point, but thatā€™s not when he was infected.Ā

Mount and Chilwell having to isolate until Monday 28th.

Not really a surprise when you hear they were talking face to face with him for over 20 mins in the tunnel within 1m of each other. With their GPS stuff on from the game they cant even daft man it and pretend it was just a 5 min conversation.

People ranting and raving about Scotland having no close contacts clearly don't fully grasp what PHE class as a close contact and how the information provided to them can be worked.

Scotland will have handed over all the videos of training, GPS info from training and games, bus/planeĀ manifests etc. Now if the players don't sit where they are meant to or are in each other's rooms then there is a degree of deniability there with the team, how can anyone prove otherwise?

With Mount and Chilwell, they would have been bang to rights.Ā

Doctor on Radio Scotland this morning saying the fact this hasn't resulted in a bigger outbreak shows that the squad have been doing a good job of following the guidelines.Ā

He said Billy could've caught it from something innocuous like a drinking glass. Pure bad luck :(

Oh totally but, from an English perspective, it is their failing Mount and Chilwell are isolating as it could be where they've got it.Ā Ā

It's probably most likely he has caught it whilst in our camp and given our relative short distances to journey it'll be interesting to read how other teams managed it better.Ā  I'd imagine any failings we've had from our side will be down to inexperience and funding whereas wouldn't be surprised if the German squad had an entourage of hotel/catering staff who've stayed in the bubble too for the duration.Ā Ā Ā Ā

Ā

MI5 mate. They recognise that Billy Gilmour is a clear and present danger to UK sovereignty. Was quite clear he was about to lead us through the group stages and be instrumental in Scotland winning EURO2020 -Ā an event that finally breaks the shackles of decades, almost centuries, ofĀ colonial rule from Westminster and a decisive independence referendum on 18th September 2021 is won. Got MI5 written all over it and I suspect Chilwell is the security services' inside man.Ā

Bastards.

Maybe, but i'd been much closer IMO. We lost midfield tonight and Modric ran it.
