If gilmour can get in the Chelsea team on a regular basis he should be in the squad, if he can’t then he shouldn’t make make the euro squad.

If Gilmour gets in the Chelsea team on a regular basis he'll be in our team never mind squad.

That’s Foden played 100 senior games for Man City, Billy some way off that and only a year younger, obviously his injury has set him back a bit but really needs games.

Looks like he has 6 months of doing fuck all ahead

That is a damning stat. Foden has always been getting dipped in and out of the team until this season where he is now a regular. Gilmour hasn't had that and isn't even in squads now. He should be playing 1st team football every week, he's too good for U23s pretty disgraceful how Chelsea are handling him at the moment.

Its shit, i would love for some other big club to buy him in the summer as I think he should be playing every week. They have pretty much fukked his chances of making the euros.

Especially in the cup games at the beginning.

I do think we need to be cautious about Gilmour, simply because he’s only played a handful of games, even if he’s looked more than good enough in them.

Unfortunately hard to see him getting a lot of games between now and the euros.

Chelsea have done this to decent youngsters in the past. Piazon was at Chelsea nearly a decade and only made 3 first team appearances before getting sold at the age of 27. Hopefully the same doesn't happen to Gilmour.

Tuchel has so much as said he’s not physically ready for the EPL.......... so why the f**k would you not let him go on loan?? It’s bizarre, imagine how much it would’ve developed his game going to a Southampton or Leicester for the remainder of the season. He may not have started every game but he would’ve at least got plenty minutes. He wasn’t even in the u23 squad yesterday. Been hung out to dry.

Maybe he will be in the squad today if he wasn't in the u23s squad.

If he is seen as not physically ready for the EPL why would he be sent out on loan to Southampton or Leicester?

Yeah I meant to add it’s Tuchel that doesn’t see him as physically ready for that position. But obviously other managers in the EPL do. At the end of the day, he needs to be playing senior football to toughen up, there is only so much you can do in the gym.

If Touchel doesn't trust Gilmour to be able to play against the side who are bottom, Billy Gilmour has a problem.

If you watch Billy Gilmour, his speed of thought and how quickly he sees the big picture is world class. Unless he was man marked, an opposition player wouldn't be able to lay a glove on him, no matter the league he was playing in.

I want to see him leave Chelsea on a permanent deal.

Guardiola and Man City have put their trust in Foden and now he is flourishing into England’s best player. Hopefully Tuchel puts the same trust in Gilmour once he gets to know him better as a player and a personality.

Compared to some other clubs of a similar stature Chelsea have an awful record of developing young players for their first team.  Players like Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood are of a similar age to Gilmour but already feature regularly for their clubs, and have been in squads for their national team's senior side.

If he isn't in Tuchel's immediate plans then depriving a young player of the opportunity to learn and improve, which preventing him from going on loan effectively does, just doesn't benefit anyone. Hopefully he gets some game time today.

Speculation in todays papers about a Rangers move.  Not great that he wouldnt be playing in the EPL but interesting to see if he could make a big impact in the Champions League. Plus interesting to see him play alongside Jack as Scotlands possible half back line.

Really hope that doesn’t happen.

If he can get a few games over the next 4-5 weeks he can still make the next squad and if he is to go on loan next season then hopefully it’ll be to another English premier league side.

I read somewhere that Guardiola is "obsessed" with Billy Gilmour. It's a shame that Gilmour isn't with Manchester City, as Guardiola would be the best manager to be able to turn Gilmour from a promising player into a world class player.

Chelsea are a richer Watford, in that, there's no managerial stability.

I read that article after reading your post, there's another stating the same but there's no real substance to either article.

Gilmour would be better at most clubs outwith Chelsea. I've said as much before, the manager merry go round at Chelsea leaves no real chance for youth to kick on
