Caledonian Craig
Cooper injured in the pre-match warm-up and so misses out. Thought to be a falre-up of the injury that ruled him out of the last two Scotland matches.
ErsatzThistle
I feel sorry for Liam Cooper who was starting to look a lot more confident playing for Scotland but if he does have to have a spell out we now have the experienced club captains of Aberdeen, Hibs and Motherwell to cover for him. Taylor1996
Gutted for Cooper. Can tell from the his interviews that he loves playing for Scotland. He's underrated. A world-class manager manager obviously rates him. Hopefully he's playing in Euro 2020.

Taylor1996
Scott McTominay starts in midfield in a 5-3-2.
ProudScot
Grant Hanley starting for Norwich on Sky. Forgot he existed! It now seems unusual he wasn’t called up in place of Considine etc, however, quite glad that he wasn’t.
Taylor1996
Would appear that United are playing our system 3-5-2, with Fred and McTominay playing the double-pivot in the middle of midfield.

killiefaetheferry
First time I've seen the term 'double pivot' on here.

Someone mocked me for using it a few months ago. Apparently, it's an Americanism.
ErsatzThistle
Nobody dare argue with Chripper about this. He understands numbers and we don't. He is also a world renown pollster. We should be honoured to have a man of his genius here amongst us mere proles.
Taylor1996
Scott McTominay having another good match. Not many of our midfielders would keep a £90m player on the bench, regardless of the supposed richess in midfield that people think we have. mccaughey85
Murray Wallace playing for Millwall. I think it's a centre back. Might be an option for the future.

Second game back and played very well on Saturday and again tonight by the looks of things, Kind of handy that he is right footed. Bit of a worry McLean is getting no game time or Norwich

I know you knew that, I just quoted you because so far since his injury Hanley has looked good. I don't think we have a better right footed defender. mccaughey85
Some goal by Lewis Ferguson tonight, 6 league goals this season, guy must be a considered for the main squad if he keeps this up.
Taylor1996
(It's not written in stone that a RCB has be right footed.) It's good that Ferguson is doing well. The more midfielder we have playing well, the better. A really good display by McTominay. Breaking up attacks, passing, tackling and he almost scored. Turnbulls not even in the Celtic team yet.
mccaughey85
Good display by mctominay tonight from what I am reading. Good to see him performing well against top opposition. We are lucky to have such a committed talented player like him.
