Burj_Alba
Shankland being in is a surprise as he hasn't played any football this season. Maybe close to fitness. Only three centre halves and three left backs so looks like one of the LB will play somewhere else. Feel abit sorry or Taylor as he needs two others to be injured before getting a game in his favourite position.
Burj_Alba
Also no Fraser....
Super_Scotlandfan
Ryan Fraser not called up. Assume because he can’t have been training. He must be keeping his fitness up though...bit disappointing. He’d be in our best starting 11 we’d want to play in October.

Looks like he's made a hard-headed choice over players that have been out a long time. He must be sure Shankland's fit though.
SkyBlueScot
Greg Taylor is an interesting choice. Tierney's not there as a left back. Could we have: Palmer McKenna Tierney Robertson

Does have Teirney and McTominay that could play central defence so not as bad as it looks in that position. No real surprises though

Griffiths, Fraser, Turnbull, Russell, Morgan, GMS, Gordon and Naismith all might have been selected in a previous squad, but you can see the logic in them missing out. Good to see Clarke is willing to make tough decisions and be ruthless when he needs to be. The likes of McCrorie and Shankland might not be ready for these games, but they could end up being major players in the future.

wanderer
Clarke confirms that Fraser asked to be left out as he is nowhere near match fit for these games

Harsh to leave him out, he’s been on form for Kansas.

Harsh maybe. Part of his reasoning must be that he wants to sign for a club before he plays any games incase he gets injured. The same reason why he didn’t want to sign a short term deal for Bournemouth.

romanticscot
The big surprise is there is no real surprise. I expected more SPL players. I felt McGinn fae Hibs could have been called up and C Burke.

PASTA Mick
It will be a very interesting starting XI. I'd be tempted with - McLaughlin Gallagher McKenna Tierney Forrest McTominay McGregor Robertson McGinn McBurnie Dykes
Malcolm
given the squad I would now be tempted to go 442 McLaughlin palmer McKenna tierney robertson armstrong Mctominay Mcginn christie Dykes mcburnie ask the fullbacks to push on

Malcolm
Personally I would play Armstrong ahead of Forrest as a wing back

Plus, he destroyed Israel last time we played at Hampden so it would make sense to start him. Edited August 25, 2020 by PASTA Mick
wanderer
Suspect will be along lines of, .............................Marshall Palmer or Tierney , Gallagher, Cooper, Roberston .................McGregor......Mctominay .............Chrsitie.....McGinn...Forrest ............................McBurney (with Dykes starting the Israel game)
romanticscot
2 up top suits McBurnie, we should we trying 3-5-2, there really isn't any suitable games other than IF we make it through our play offs and have warm up games next summer, so why not now
ParisInAKilt
From what I’ve seen of him McBurnie is useless up front himself
