ErsatzThistle
Quite simply the world's greatest film composer has passed away aged 91. Probably best known for amongst many others the - A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Once Upon A Time In The West, Once Upon A Time In America, The Mission, The Untouchables and Cinema Paradiso - the list goes on and on and on. Any particular favourites ? Here's three of mine. "Here's to You" (Sacco & Vanzetti) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vp420cZZ0c4 Sentimental (I ... as in Icarus) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMc6D9T8y_c "The Strong" (The Good, The Bad & The Ugly) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtMmKZye1YY Edited July 6, 2020 by ErsatzThistle
Toepoke
Preferred John Barry for one but he did indeed write some classics. I mind having a tape of this single. The charts were certainly different back then
Jim Beem
Once Upon a Time in America is an absolute classic bit of film making.
ErsatzThistle
A lot of his very best work was done on Italian and French films that are seldom ever seen (with the exception of some "spaghetti westerns") in the Angloshpere. Check some of them out. Main Theme (A Pistol For Ringo) Nostalgia (The Prince of the Desert) Main Theme (The Lady Caliph) When it came to music that downright haunts you to the core, Morricone was the damn master.
