It would have been easier to fill this team if I'd played 7 or 8 strikers & not bothered too much about the defence. Cowan & Morrison make it in on the basis of being absolute Town legends. I'm sure Gary Naysmith is a better LB than Tommy Cowan, but he nicks it for his skill in doing pumped-up clenched fist salutes in front of the home fans whenever we won.

GK - Sandy Mutch
RB - David Steele
LB - Tom Cowan
CB - Andy Morrison
CB - Murray Wallace
M - Scott Arfield
M - Jimmy McGill
M - Neil McNab
M - Kevin Gallagher
CF - Alex Jackson
CF - Denis Law

Manager - Bill Shankly
Assistant Manager - Andy Beattie

Gary Naysmith played for us in midfield against Iceland and scored a cracker.  You could stick him in there instead of the Canadian (a Scottish-born one to be fair).

I can live with that...I'd also thought maybe classing Alex Jackson as a midfielder as he was a winger really, & leave space for another striker (we seem to have had a lot of Scottish strikers on our books down the years) as I'd have liked to include Les Massie.

And Kevin McAllister cannie get in the team 😕 best uncapped Scot Bar none, and a far better player than Nevin at the same time, even Chelsea supporters agree on this.

No space for big Dunc! Could always make him manager...

Wee Troupie should be in instead of Nevin.

I haven't worked it out but there must be a decent Spurs or Man City team out there ?

It's funny that some English clubs are heavily associated with Scots (liverpool) but not others (spurs). Maybe due to a Scottish manager.

As for Spurs these immediately come to mind:

Sullivan

Hutton

Gough

McKay

Archibald

Durie

You could probably put a decent Spurs side together.

Weren't that many midfielders and left backs to choose from for Spurs. Plenty of forwards though.
