Both.

I think thats unfair and unrealistic. There are people who have followed the rules to the letter for a year now, only to see an increasing number of those who dont. The ones who dont are lengthening the time that the rule followers are having to spend in lockdown etc.Ā

Eventually there comes a point when people just want to see their family again etc. There are people who havent seen newborn family members that were born ages ago. Some people might have elderly relatives that might not be around in 3 or 6 months time.

If we are all going as fast as possible with the vaccine rollout it appears Wales must have been allocated more vaccine that everyone else.Ā

That would only be true for certain if all other conditions remained equal.

And then more people get sick and die and more business go under asĀ lockdown takes longer to lift hence these people are stupid orĀ selfishĀ or both. Their actions lead to exactly the same consequences as the original rule breakers so they are just as bad.

Do people not recall their parents saying just because you friends are jumping off a cliff into the sea that doesn't mean I am going to let you because it's stupid and dangerous. Grown adults should have the ability to comprehend the consequences of their actions.

So how long do you expect people to follow the rules for without being stupid or selfish?Ā

If the virus levels dont go down and the vaccines lose effectiveness because of mutations are you expecting the people who have followed the rules for a year to do so for another 6 months, a year, 18 months whilst a large percentage of the population around them do as they please?

Ā

As long as the rules are in place. They will be in place less time if people follow them

Exactly, especially when they are seeing people all around them break the rules.Ā

Itā€™s ridiculous to expect people to stay away from family for so long and the mental health implications of isolation.Ā

They wont be in place less time if a considerable percentage dont follow them though. Thats my point. Im not defending those breaking the rules, far from it. My point is that it becomes very unfair on those obeying the rules and there comes a point when they need to live there lives aswell.

It's a pandemic there are no good outcomes, you have to mitigate what you can where you can. The ideal best path is lower infections and vaccinate atm. Of course there are drawbacks to that. However that should be communicated as the optimal strategy.

Itā€™s better to wager suffering to avoid death than to wager death to avoid suffering.

You seem to be a wee bit obsessed by fairly small difference in fairly large numbers. I'm guessing you are looking at the numbers on the TT website? According to that, Scotland have done 50% more second doses than England, which might sound like a big difference but it isn't. If you look at the graph for first doses the 4 UK countries are almost identical. The graph for 2nd doses makes it look like Wales are miles ahead of everybody else but that graph has a different scale on the y axis. If both graphs were done to a scale of 100% you would hardly notice the difference.Ā

The difference between the 6.1% for Wales and 2.3% for Scotland is equivalent to about 60,000 doses. That amount of vaccine could easily fit into the back of a small van and could well have been hurtling up the M6 at the time the count was taken.Ā

And that is why levels won't come down as quick as they could, more people will get ill and die and more business will go bust

Signs of a wee upturn in cases again. Might be the start of the Rangers Rampage effect?

We have for the past few days had a higher proportion of the cases than is proportionate for our population.

Several European countries have suspended the use of the Oxford vaccine over reports of blood clotting.

Ā

Seems weird cause according to the figures i've seen (and who really knows we're all laypeople in this) there is no change in the percentage of people getting thrombosis in the vaccine group and outside of the vaccine group.

In the UK where there is a near 50/50 split in Pfizer vaccine and AZ vaccine admnistrations there were 15 and 13 respectively thrombosis incidents.

Although it seems our supply lines are different from Europes in respect to the AZ vaccine and also the EU don't check every batch. Cause we only gave emergency use exemption every batch is checked in the UK.

The above is all sourced from social media though so could be total bunkum.
