They will probably continue to "manage" the death rate - which many have suggested is what is happening now - but yes

Here is the Korea story

Soz. I edited my post cause I sort of decided to ask questions rather than make up my own stuff cause that's pretty easy to do and not that helpful.

Cheers.

'Jeong Eun-kyeong, director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said during a briefing that the virus may have "reactivated" in the patients rather than them becoming reinfected, Reuters reported.'

I'm involved with a couple of lung health forums which are administered by researchers & respiratory specialists. I've stuck a question up to see what their thoughts are on the likely explanation...I suspect they will come back with a 'it's too early to know for sure' but if they offer any new insight or have anything of interest to say, I'll pass it on.

I'm told that one possible explanation for the Korean numbers may be down to the quality of the testing kits they've used...early in the outbreak they were heavily reliant on a Chinese manufactured testing kit which was later shown to have an accuracy level of between 20 & 40% (WHO standards require 80%+ apparently). I don't know what that means in terms of throwing up errors, but the potential for a lot of false positive readings may be part of the explanation.

Just in case anyone was taking the measures taken to curb the virus in the UK seriously...

They are still allowing flights in? Madness.Ā

Yet the cops will stop folk going to the parkĀ

Do these flights have many passengers.Ā

As I understand it,Ā  a lot of these commercialĀ  flights are mainly to continue freight routes.

Would like to see the number of passengers through Heathrow.Ā

Austerity won the day

The Tories were also responsible for the Mad Cow disease epidemic 30 years ago that will probably still have implications for us

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/its-23-years-scandal-mad-17792783

And yet the Tories apparently are as popular as ever.Ā  And as we know austerity was always for the many and not for the few.Ā  Our media must take a lot of the blame.Ā  I'm notĀ  a big fan of Alistair Campbell but I think he's pretty much spot on here:

The PCR testing we are doing in the UK won't be 100% accurate either. I would guess no more than 90%, maybe less.Ā

The lab test is only one of the tools used by doctors to decide if a person has COVID-19 (or most other viral diseases for that matter). Diagnosing the symptoms still plays a huge part, as do x-rays. CT scans are much better but I would imagine that the NHS just doesn't have enough CT scanners to cope with the likely demand?

This is a new disease. Doctors are still learning how to diagnose the symptoms. Medical Lab Scientists are learning how to use the new test kits. The test kits themselves are being continually developed and improved.

Like everything i dont know if a lot of this is true or whether it's anti Chinese propaganda

That guy has a ridiculous amount of content on his channel. He really doesn't like China. I suspect his view is not balanced.

As to the numbers in China, time will tell i guess.

Him and another fanny calledĀ laowhy86 are well known for pursuing anĀ 'everything china is bad line'. Not worth listening to.

Just back from the hospital here in Ottawa. Had my big toe nail.removed for a biopsy. I had to go as the specialist wanted it done asap. In saying that, I was very uneasy going to the hospital with this C19 going around. I shaved my beard off at my wife's request so I get a better seal with my mask. I also wore surgical gloves. I stayed fuck away from everyone. Thing that shocked me there were folk walking around, no mask, no gloves, touching shit and what not. I could not believe it. Maybe I just overreacted, but not a pleasant morning.

Wearing gloves is pointless unless you change them every 15 minutes or every time you touch something. You canā€™t catch the virus through your hands.Ā

You can if you touch your face after. I do not give a flying fuck, I wore the gloves, and threw them away in the bin as I exited the hospital. it makes me sleep better atĀ night..

That would also happen if you touched your face while wearing the gloves. You also have to touch the glovesĀ to take them off so you still need to wash your hands anyway.

If it makes you feel better then fair enough but you were talking as if people were doing something wrong by not wearing gloves which really isnā€™t the case.Ā
