Wonder if there's any truth in these reports that the virus may have been here a few months ago? We were concerned about my son having a terrible cough for a few weeks solid recently,  so much so that we took him to the doctors in case it was asthma or something similar, but it went away eventually.

Hoping now it was the virus he had.

To be fair since none of the reading is compulsory you only have yourself to blame for that.

I like to try and keep abreast of what is going on, and generally this thread is very good so I read it.

But people with no real scientific knowledge trying to second guess how many fatalities there may be is a futile exercise  . I did stop reading after a while.

Btw, I only quoted your post as it was worded in such a way that allowed me to make my point easily ,  not because I disagreed with you. Your post is absolutely correct .

My flight with easyjet to glasgow tomorrow was cancelled by the airline

Does anyone know how to get a refund? Their website is very unhelpful. The site states I should call customer service but I just get a voicemail stating I should call back later.

Hopefully you'll be able to test him for having had it soon.

Personally I'd doubt it was Covid-19, there are always a few nasty viruses in circulation each winter.

Looks like you are not alone. Think you can only keep trying customer service.

Could be but surely more younger people would've died already if this was the case?

The girl may well have had an undetected underlying health condition. A lot of us could be in that position.

apparently as an example - if pregnant a females immune system is weakened

I said earlier in this topic that Ive almost certainly had this virus. Self isolated for 8 days now but only had mild effects whereas my daughter who is 31 was very cloae to being taken to hosp with breathing difficulties as a result of it. Im nearly back to ok ..shes still washed out. Statistically its affecting older folk more seriously but as can be seen by the death of the 21 year old girl .youngsters are not immune just less likely to suffer.

As for Prince Charles .completely ignoring uk govt guidelines taking himself and his entourage to the highlands on Sunday. Completey ignoring thr serious urgings of Sturgeon and her CMO on Sunday. But look at today .when questioned re Prince Charles.Sturgeon and her CMO totslly bottled it fudging an answer.

Great to hear you back!

Ross Mcrorie saying he had no symptoms whatsoever, which is good, but how do they know he has it in that case? Who tested him and why?

Football clubs generally have their own medical staff, so I imagine all players and staff are being tested as a matter of course.

I think 5 Portsmouth players have tested positive.

Football medics can't test for the virus. It needs specialist PCR equipment. They will be using a private company though. I suppose anyone of us could get tested if we were prepared to pay for it, but I guess that even private companies will be quite busy just now.

Surely the medical staff can administer the test - it will obviously have to go to a lab for processing though.

I'm assuming that the NHS has their own labs and isn't reliant on the private sector for this but who knows in England.

Meh, have had a stressful week , I am waking up in cold sweats at night dreaming of numbers. Apologies to all the intelligent folk out there.

I did find a small moment of lightheartedness  reading through it all though. There was all this number crunching going on , then Ramy suddenly appears from nowhere and posts an emoji driven rant about Prince Charles. Then it shot right back to  number crunching about death.

It was like in the olden days when you had recorded something on VHS, then taped over it. You would be watching the new recording then  suddenly some random recording from 2 years previous would kick in for 5 seconds, then it would  go back to the current recording .

No logarithms required to keep me entertained 🙄
