Your Ideal Team For The Playoffs?

Marshall, Kelly, McLaughlin

Palmer, Hanley, Cooper, Findlay, Gallagher, Robertson, Taylor, Tierney

Christie, Forrest, Fraser, McTominay, McGregor, Fleck, Armstrong, McGinn, Jack, Gilmour

Griffiths, McBurnie, Naismith, Paterson

Something like this?

Give McGinn 20 mins against Israel, hope we win and start him in the final.

No specialist right back cover but 3 left backs in the squad. If Tierney isn’t fit then put O’Donnell in.

I want to put Shankland in but think Paterson would give a really good option if we’re chasing a game. Plus he’s a utility player.

I like this team a lot! I think it could be even better if KT comes out of international retirement and plays at right back. Genuinely the best looking 11 in quite a few years. Added to that you have the favtbwe could sub on Armstrong, Forrest, and Fleck.

Agree with this. Our team is looking better. I just hope clarke has the bottle to make the changes.

Like this team too, let’s see how Gilmour does today and Chelsea’s remaining games before he’s in the starting 11 ahead of Fleck and McGregor though.

Also need to see if McGinn is fully fit to start.

But that’s a pretty ideal team I’d like to see all going well and if we qualified for the Euro’s.

My squad

Marshall, Kelly, McGlaughlan

Palmer, Taylor, Hanley, Findlay, Gallagher, Cooper, Robertson

McGregor, Jack, McTominay, Gilmour, McGinn, Fleck, Armstrong, Christie.

Forrest, Fraser, Naismith, Griffiths, McBurnie

a starting line up of

Marshall

Palmer Hanley Findlay Robertson

?——————McGregor

Forrest McGinn Christie

————Griffiths———-/

Cant decide on the second midfielder, I feel could make an argument for 3 or 4 different players.

I chose Christie to edge Fraser because of his performances in November and Fraser has regularly not shown up for squads.

My 25-man squad:

Marshall, Kelly, McLaughlin

Robertson, Taylor, Tierney, Palmer, Hanley, Cooper, Findlay, Gallagher

McTominay, McGregor, Gilmour, Jack, Fleck, Armstrong, Forrest, Christie, Fraser, Paterson

Griffiths, McBurnie, Naismith, Phillips

Praying McGinn makes it but looking unlikely at the minute. With Tierney back in full training if he gets any first-team minutes under his belt for Arsenal over the next couple weeks I'd have him in at right-back over Palmer. If he declares himself unavailable again he really ought to take a look at himself, these opportunities don't come around often.

In fairness to Tierney he is injured and is unlikely to be fit for the Israel game.

Yeah, I dont expect to see him in this squad at all, but I'm still holding out hope of seeing him in a Scotland jersey again one day.

Is Findlay really a better option than Cooper? Legit question as I haven't seen either of them play much this season, so all I can go on is who they play for. Is Findlay well fancied to go onto bigger things?

It’s probably close between the two of them. I do see Findlay at one of the old firm in time but it is probably close between him and Cooper. Findlay is bigger and faster though and he impresses each time I’ve seen him.

That's good to hear. I did love his attitude and performance in the last game. Hopefully he can get a move somewhere serious soon (SquirrelHumper baiting).

Cooper will almost certainly be playing in the EPL 6 months from now. It will be interesting to see how he gets on there.

Tbh every time I’ve seen Cooper he’s been rash and dives in and found out of position, I have it in my head that he should be a good player given that he plays every game for Leeds and granted I don’t see Leeds every week but I’ve always been really underwhelmed.

Findlay obviously didn’t do so well at the weekend but I see quite a lot of Kilmarnock and I quite like him especially in the bigger games against the old firm.

Findlay has rashly given away penalties recently, a symptom of being a young player I guess

Just watching Sportscene there and his attempt at a tackle/clearance in the last minute on Saturday was brutal. As was his attempted headed back pass in the first half. Add those to the penalty he gave away in the Aberdeen game and he looks a bit of a bomb scare, at least on current form.

Hanley and Cooper for me.

I wouldn't be too far away from that although I can't see Tierney and McGinn both being fit.

I'd include Burke too.

How about something really out of the box and try Paterson at right back.

He's desperate to play for Scotland, only 25 and played there for us in our most impressive recent performances. And is finally back to full fitness.

Liam Palmer is 28 and a far better left back than he is a right back, has never played any were other than the middle of the championship and was part of the worst performance in qualification against Kasakhstan.  Lets just blame the left side of the pitch.

A couple of uninspiring performances against weak opposition hardly make him an international footballer.

O'Donnell is....................................O'Donnell.
