Orraloon
Is Fraser injured? Hard to believe he would drop one of our very few better players.
Guest RabS
1 up front, I don’t think Shankland is best suited to be a lone striker.
The_Dark_Knight
Same old same old. This is a dead rubber and Clarke STILL sticks to what'll probably be a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1.

Yeah but what is the manager going to learn from playing this team in this formation?

I swear, it seems like every manager we hire thinks the team will explode if we ditch four at the back. To hell with it! Bring back Craig Brown! Toepoke
It's Steve Clarke's favoured formation, uses it almost every game. The Belgians have done ok playing 433 continually.
Big Ramy 1314
Shows how bad we are with one up front against a powerhouse San Marino at home. Fuck me man...

Toepoke
Just now, RabS said: And how has that worked out for Clarke? Well it was good for Killie, not so much for Scotland so far. But the SFA can't say they didn't know what they were getting.

Mate, we can say that about every single manager that were hired since Vogts. It beggars belief that not one of those manager even thought about giving 3/5 a try, over a longish period of time. Strachan got the stage where he gave it a few games, same with McLeish, but neither had the fortitude to stick with it.

We’ll learn absolutely nothing. It’s a ‘cannae win’ game. If we win 4-0 folk will say it should’ve been 8-0. If we win 8-0 folk will say “It’s only San Marino” 🤷🏼♂️

It’s not just Clarke’s poor tactics, he is very unimaginative in his squad and team selections. He doesn’t seem to be able to picture and then build a functioning team in his mind, let alone on the pitch.
Bino's
2 centre halfs, 3 defensive midfielders & 1 recognised striker, at home against the lowest rank team on earth

vanderark14
Its san marino, we could play and SPFL 11 and should still win. This game tells us nothing.
kumnio
Stupid line-up IMO, we struggle to break down teams, so playing one striker that will be dominated by their back 6 is pointless, our attacking midfielders will probably do feck all as usual. weekevie04
Right, it's been a hellish few games. LET'S get the start of some momentum and build a team that can put up a wee run of form before the playoffs. It won't undone the horror of the last four games, but a very convincing and good win can help mend some bridges and confidence. San Marino are the lowest ranked team in UEFA. I wish them all the best, but I really hope we can put at least 6 past them today.

We're kinda like the club version of Man United, if you watch either team you won't see a pattern and you'll see players on a different page. er yir macaroon
It’s still a front three so I’m not sure what everyone is complaining about. In this game the formation means nothing. If we win 9-0 it means nothing.
