Stuart87
Since the turn of the century 32 European teams have qualified for major tournaments. There are 55 member nations in UEFA so we are one of the 23 that haven’t. This is a sad indictment of our national game. What do folk think are the main reasons for this complete failure, who is at fault and what can be done to turn this around?
romanticscot
I've said this before, I believe the fans need to do something official with some demands and a petition with decent amount of support. So, lets get this started - what can we legitimately propose to improve the game?
Bobby Russell's Lovechild
See how many times our younger squads have qualified for tournaments since 2000, the reading isn't much prettier. It all relates with producing decent players
runningtings
We'll need to wait a few years before the youngsters come through. They can actually control the ball with one touch unlike the current crop.

I also find it interesting that Norway haven’t qualified since euro 2000 so they’re basically in the same situation as us. I wonder what they’re saying about it? I think the big difference with Norway is that they've never really had a sustained period of qualifying for tournaments. Their best period was in the 90s, when they qualified for the World Cup in 1994 and 1998 and Euro 2000. That's all they've ever qualified for. So being in the situation they're in now is normal in their footballing history, whereas it's not for us.
