KirkieRobRoy
The week of football is utter mince for supporters but I don't see how it's a hardship for players. Something else to chuck in the hopper; suppose we really shine in these two meaningless ties, and some players have particularly good games (I know, it's a long shot, but work with me). Some of these players are then not selected for the play offs, but Tierney is, having made himself available. Worrying potential for squad dissension when that kind of thing happens. The fans deserve a lot more honesty but as always they remain tight lipped for fear of upsetting someone or tainting a players reputation. I thought that was what Clarke said. If we believe what he actually said then he hadn't spoken to Tierney or anybody at Arsenal. He is just going by what Arsenal filled in on the forms that they returned. If Clarke has any baws about him he just shouldn't bother selecting him again. He doesn't need to say why if he doesn't want to, just don't select him. Fergie wouldn't have up with any of this shyte. I Nope - I got your point. I'm disagreeing with it. Seems the other Home Nations don't have an issue with turning up for internationals. Our h ighest in recent times is Darren Fletcher (more reason than most to miss games) - 80 Caps, Kenny Miller 69 Caps, David Weir 69 Caps and Christian Dailly on 67. Then it's Caldwell on 55. Scottish players are on the whole, wanks. Chris Gunter - 97 Caps Wayne Hennessey - 87 Caps Ashley Williams - 86 Caps Garerth Bale - 81 Caps Joe Ledley - 77 Caps Wayne Rooney 120 Caps David Becham 115 Caps Steven Gerrard 114 Caps Ashley Cole 107 Caps Frank Lampard 106 Caps Robbie Keane 146 Shay Given 134 John O'Shea 118 Kevin Kilbane

IMO Scottish players aren't as committed to playing for Scotland as us fans think they should be. They would rather spend the time at home, clear up injuries or do a variety of other things when an international break comes round. We, as fans, find it hard to understand someone not wanting to play for their country. A lot of them, as players, don't have that same view. That's what I have been arguing. You seem to be saying this too. Or have I misunderstood the whole "Scottish players are wank" comment. Other nations suffer it to with certain individuals. But not to the extent we seem to. And whilst he did struggle defensively at times he was decent in what was a superb result, followed by another superb result, Excellent stuff. vanderark14
As much as I believe his commitment is up for debate, tierney is allowed a social life. Clutching at straws comes to mind
