Scottish mother

I never realised that. Two of his three so far this season have been penalties but the lad knows how to take one for sure. He looks like a very decent prospect though  plenty of pace & energy about him

Think he’s played for England at various levels but I’ve never heard him speak about what or where any long-term international aspirations lie.

He was absolutely anonymous in the 2nd half. Still, young lad. Bound to have games like that.

A much more accurate assessment of where he probably is right now than from other quarters.

It's not so much that he's young - he's 23 in December, so not a kiddie - but I suspect it's the lack of experience.  He's only played about 50 games for his club - which will undoubtedly include a lot of substitute appearances.  Kieran Tierney who is actually six months younger is at the other end of the spectrum having played over three times as many games for Celtic and I'm guessing all bar a few of those he played the full 90.

I see that McTominay missed a lot of football due to growth issues in his late teens which explains this so it's not a major concern but it will have held back his development.

Given more games, he *should* benefit from the experience and *could* become an important player for club and country but he doesn't look the finished article just yet.

Cocu has put Shinnie with Derby's U23 squad until he can 'fit him into his plans'.

Feel bad for the lad considering it was Lampard who signed him and now he's got a manager who doesn't really want him

On loan to Rangers in January it is then .....

Also League One but Michael Rose scored a late equaliser for 9 man Coventry against Portsmouth.

MacGivalry in goal and McCrorie playing RB for Portsmouth.

been keeping an eye on Rose as his manager at Ayr said Coventry will probably be a stepping stone before a bigger club.

Interesting. Thought he was Irish. He was at Walsall for a few years but couldn't dislodge Neil Etheridge who's gone on to do well at a higher level. First choice at Pompey who'll be in contention to go up.

Won't get a chance now but ultimately keeper area will need to be refreshed in next 2-3 years with Gordon and Marshall both well into their 30s now so might be worth calling him up for a friendly,

They didn't last season and they sold two of their better players in the summer.

McCrorie to play right back for the rest of his days would be fine
