They have 8 current EPL players (another 2 with EPL experience), including 3 defenders, which means they can play in a back four against above average team at international level. We cannot.

Hell, our defenders can't even cope with the might of Kazakhstan.

At the aftermath of the Hollland match Gary Neville said that England aren't equipped to play with a four against top teams. Apparently people think we are.

After the Belgium match Clarke with seriously ponder a back three.

Gary Neville is a dribbling idiot so I wouldn’t put too much stock in his opinion.

England losing last night had the sum total of fuck all to do with playing 4 at the back.

Disagree. Even Liverpool fans like him as a pundit, which is amazing in itself.

Agreed. England losing was because of Stones making two stupid mistakes. Don't be surprised if they revert back to a three in the near future, though.

All Liverpool fans? What a strange generalisation. I know a couple of Liverpool fans that can’t stand him.

Clarke won't play a back 3 Chripper, think he did it once in his full time at Killie and is on record numerous time, even after taking the Scotland job stating he prefers a back 4.

They just have the mentality to be able to grind out results home and away. Scotland would've lost 2-0 to Denmark last night but ROI keep games very tight (Denmark took 75 minutes to score first compared to Kazhak 2 goals in first 10 minutes) so that always means they've got a chance of getting a goal through set piece or cross and getting at least a point.

At International level away from home ROI and Norn Iron are hard to beat, Scotland simply aren't.

Interesting they seem to be having the same issue on the right as Scotland do on the left when everyone is fit. Left Matt Doherty who have a brilliant season at Wolves on the bench as seems they can't fit him and Seamus Coleman in the same 11.

How on earth do this team do it? Pummelled by denmark yet they gain a valuable point. Are there any of their players we would want? Are duffy and Keogh better than any 2 we can come up with? and would you take James MClean Hendrick and RobbieBrady over our midfield?

I would say the individuals who make up our team and squad are better than them by some distance, they are not a patch on some recent Irish sides.  As has been pointed out being fairly strong at the back gives you a chance and then there's a mnetality which for some reason we just don't seem to have at present
