Starting XI vs Cyprus

Going off of Clarke's squad I'd go with

                           Marshall
O'Donnell   Souttar     Findlay  Robertson

                 McGinn    McTominay

Forrest             Cairney            Fraser

                           Brophy

Would have liked to have picked someone else up top but Burke looks a shadow of a player and McNulty is a lump of wood.

I doubt he will go as experimental as that to start with.

Expecting something along lines of....

............................Bain

O'Donnell-Mulgrew-McKenna-Robertson

.............Cairney-McTorminay

........Forest - McGregor - Fraser

...................Russell

Sounds like Baldrick

I assure you that we have devised a full proof plan to win us these two games. It involves a zeppelin, a troupe of ballet dancing sumo wrestlers,  the Shotts and Dykehead Pipe Band and Bonny is negotiating the lease of the submarine.

What possibly go wrong ?

         Forrest - McGregor - McTominay - Fraser

Kelly
O'Donnell - Mulgrew - McKenna - Robertson
McTominay - Armstrong
Forrest - McGinn - Fraser
Burke

Fancy Burke the most of the 3, even if it's purely got his pace and physicality. None of the three are prolific scorers.
Give McGinn a shot in behind as he can still press, has an eye for goal and should be far enough from our own goal for it to be safe.
Armstrong's one of our most consistent players, McTominay's nailed on.

In terms of keeper.. I don't really trust Bain from what I've seen of him. Doesn't fill me with confidence. MArshall's had a hit and miss season. Shipped a lot of goals and Hull seem to be letting him go (dropped for the last few games with the manager talking about picking a side looking towards next season). So it's McLaughlin or Kelly. I don't think there's much in it, but Kelly is 8 years younger, so the better option if we're looking to the future.

Going by what Clarke said in his squad interview, I get the feeling he has plans for Cairney, as he did seem to indicate that he went out of his way to clear up the situation as to why he has not been involved over the years and the talks of a England switch last year.

If Bonny is involved then surely Paul Dickov will have a part to play somewhere?

Why not go with Russell then? He just scored a hat trick for his club on Sunday night.

With Souttar? Or are we looking at Mulgrew?

I have a feeling Mulgrew will start against Belgium.

Not sure, I think he'll start him as one of his CH's though.

Findlay has pace to burn, which a couple of the CH's don't.

Clarke confirmed in his press conference that he prefers 4 at the back so no need to rip your ticket up.
