EddardStark
Not sure if this has been posted before but Sky have won the exclusive rights to cover top flight games. 48 games in total. They have also won the rights for the play off games to the top flight. BBC will cover the Championship games and well as sharing the Scottish Cup coverage with Premier. Premier will cover the League Cup. BT are totally out of the picture after next season .
DaveyDenoon
It’s a real shame we’re losing BT. They’re probably the only broadcaster to really promote Scottish football properly and talk the game up right the way through the Premiership and not just the old firm like Sky do. Also very disappointed with the BBC coverage of the Championship. To deny many County fans the ability to see promotion being won, then compound that by failing to even show the trophy presentation was beyond pathetic. By all accounts, County received around £5k for their share of the fee for Friday’s game but the switch cost the club considerably more than that in attendance reduction and the need to refund most of the hospitality packages sold for the match. If the TV money is actually less than many clubs are losing by switching games to a Friday then you have to question the wisdom of selling the rights at all in those circumstances. I hope Sky up their game considerably, otherwise this could turn out to be a poor deal in the long term, even if the financial figures are higher than BT were paying. For me, we need top quality coverage and positive promotion of the Scottish game much more than we need simply the highest bid in £££s available. The Ormond
Sky Sports. The English and Old-Firm tv channel. That’ll suit the “Scottish fitba’s pish” brigade. Guys like Dan Cake’ll love it.
