bonny78
if so they are holding the European championship holders Portugal to a draw away from home and playing well. this could end well for us....... our best hope is that they qualify and we get Portugal instead?? Grim Jim
Yes, we want Serbia to qualify, but then we'd get the next best NL team from our level (C) , so not in Portugal's (A). If past Finland first, of course.

magicTs
We definitely want Serbia to qualify automatically. Tonight was a good start for them and it will be 2 from Portugal, them and the Ukraine who qualify automatically. Regardless the good news is we cannot play Portugal or the Ukraine in any play off. If Serbia qualify automatically and Scotland, Finland and Norway do not then Bulgaria are the next team to join our play offs, assuming they don't qualify automatically. In this eventuality we would play Bulgaria at Hampden and should we win then play either Finland or Norway. That game is a also a one off, with the venue, either at Hampden or in Helsinki/Oslo to be drawn. Edited March 25, 2019 by magicTs
Burj_Alba
Thought we were stuck with Finland at home in the semi and the next best non qualified team replaced the team who qualified through the qualifiers. So in the case of the above scenario, we play Finland at home and Norway play Bulgaria?? Two other things I'm not sure about from the nations league. What decides who has home advantage in the final? and if all teams in a section qualify ( probably from the top section ) who gets that extra place? Third Lanark
Any road up, with McLeish in charge, Finland - even at home - is a tall order.

The Play-Off draw will take place on 22nd November 2019 and this will confirm which 16 teams will contest the four semi-final's. The team seeded 1st will play the 4th seeded team at home in the semi-final and the team seeded 2nd will play the 3rd seeded team at home in the other semi. The draw will also take place at the same time to determine which team gets home advantage in the final. The extra places in League A, B and perhaps C (if Serbia finish 2nd) will be taken by the highest rank team who has not qualified via the groups. Watch this 1min 41 sec video and hopefully it will all be crystal clear!!! Euro 2020 Play-Off for Dummies
bonny78
even if Khaznstan were in the play offs i wouldn't hope for us. still,, if we can get a new manager in for the play offs.... then all might be well!
