Burj_Alba
Just gone 2-0 Russia. Looks like a strong Russian side, obviously no club pressure about the plastic pitch. That I'm afraid is what good teams do to bad teams.

The have a strong team out because they have a manager and a group of players who are United in their goal. We dont.
Templeton_Peck
Probably was pressure from clubs but the Russian manager probably told them to f off

Burj_Alba
4-0 so goal difference scenario has gone. to get second we will have to finish at least 1 point ahead of them so must win in Russia and Hampden . Piece of cake. 😫😫
daviebee
Well the good news is that it wipes out Kazakhstan's goal difference. Win heavily tonight and we're right back in the race!

csinclair
Does goal difference come in to play? I assumed it was head to head

Don't Kilmarnock and Hamilton have a plastic pitch too? It's not like we couldn't've prepared for a plastic pitch by using their grounds for training before going to Kazakhstan either. Toepoke
Will we keep it to single figures in Moscow?

Correct, just checked Wikipedia. As long as we beat Russia home and away we should be fine regardless of the scoreline

romanticscot
There is simply too much pressure now for this campaign, Ech commenting there will be bumps, we already are counting on other results when we should be taking care of ourselves, plus he said the only apology they can give is win this next game - this is one of the reasons I want rod of him, he doesn't seem to comprehend reality, we need to play to our best not TRY our best for the next 9 games, it also means we need 6 if not 7 v Russia and Belgium and thats too much to ask. That was a ridiculous statement of a man under pressure. We already had to assume we MUST win this game from the start. Also to beat Kazakhstan at home, San Marino home and away, and Cyprus home and probably away, those all had to be done anyway. The only way of making up for Kazakhstan would be to get an unexpected away point in Brussels or Moscow.

Anyway Russia are comfortably second best team in group so for me challenge is already over even if it isn't reflected in points different yet. Wales only won there 1-0 with a late Bale goal in 2015 when they actually qualified. Think Belgium barely won there aswell. That will imo be a harder game than Kazhakstan so fully expected points to be dropped there. 2nd is long gone already, just make sure the home games are won to secure third as small chance then you can get o.k group for WC IF it's a kind draw. The draw for the World Cup qualifiers is in July so it won't matter where we end up in this group.
