We really do live in bizarre times when the agents are getting headlines and a player in his final year of a contract is worth 137m. Does anyone on here watch that level of football nowadays? I'd be more likely to watch a film or box set before I turned on a CL match I hadn’t even realised Spanish football was on Amazon these days until last week – swithered about getting it but found out you had to take an Amazon subscription then a La Liga subscription on top of that so thought ‘fuck that’. I used to watch everything but now can barely be arsed sourcing a stream for the Stoke games even though they’re only a fiver if you live outside UK. Watched the Serie A documentary on BT about when it was on Channel 4 – really good if you haven’t seen it. Thing that struck me though was that they had 3m watching the first Italian game they showed back in 91/92 and it didn’t even have Gazza – think from memory the box office ticker tape Premier League games get 2-3m. As such the game hasn’t grown but the same punters are just getting milked for more and more via different providers. I got BT purely when Stoke got promoted and we were on once all season getting pumped away to Liverpool - still got their internet now.
