Favorite song. 40s 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s

80's music was mostly shit, but with a few nuggets strewn around several genres.   I'm going to ignore the shiny lumps though and just be honest and admit that I love a folky, wee, liberal, fluffy tune called Gun Shy by 10,000 Maniacs.   Yeah I know, the band and Natalie had better tunes in the 80's and 90's, but this one's stuck.   I'l post for your pleasure anyway

I'm going to assume Ramy just got bored typing and will add 00's myself, like Shunkyboy did.

Not easy these when you try to think about it rather than just jump in like I did for the 90's. For this one I needed to disqualify some bands for having the cheek to have better 90's songs.   (Though Tool get an honourable mention for having nearly the best songs in both those decades.)

In the tradition of youz all getting bored with pish speeches, I'll jump to the point.   Not my favourite band or album of the noughties, and never danced, moshed nor gret to this, but...

40s - whatever my mum says

50s - Shakin All Over - Johnny Kidd and the Pirates

60s - Could be any one of hundreds, but I'll go with All or Nothing - Small Faces

70s - Layla - she's still got me on my knees

80s - Ghost Town apart was there any good music at all in the 80s?

90s - Seven Turns - The Allman Brothers (check it out on youtube if you don't believe me)

00s - Zucchero - Baila Morena (a belting song)

10s - Temperance Movement - A Deeper Cut

I think that was a 1960s record?

Absolutely. Most of it was not in the charts though.

80s is my fav. So here. George Micheal. The Cure. Roxy Music. Bronski Beat. Tears For Fears. Thompson Twins. Kate Bush. Just to name a few more. One for the 90s. Bjork. Sade.  I could go on, but that would no be nice. 2000 up, I do like Tiesto. Paul Oakanfeild. David Guetta. And of course, all types of folk, Celtic, bagpipes. 🙂

Saw PP Arnold at King Tut's a little over a year ago and she was brilliant... at 71

That might have been the encore?

Seen her a couple of times with ocean colour scene, fantastic voice.
