Third is debatable and could be one of maybe a couple of dozen other players. I'd go along with that although Bill Shankly said George Best was the greatest ever cos "a team of Bests would always beat a team of Peles." Don't think there's much between Pele and Maradona but Pele just shades it for me. As for 3rd - Messi before Cruyff, Eusebio, Best? All about opinions. I'm not sure Best would have been that good in goal though?

There's a famous interview with the Brazil manager during the 1970 World Cup when he was asked about his best keeper and he said it was Pele. Apparently he said that Pele was the best player for any position on the park. Not sure if he was just "at it" or being serious.

Felix was the best of a bad bunch. At least that's what the English commentators kept telling us but they had the best keeper that ever lived according to them. Can't imagine any Brazilian kid on the beach volunteering to be the goalie. 😁

Think it was a Panasonic but not sure. It was a short lived flirtation with the technological leading edge. 😁 We got one of those around 1980. Ma faither got a year's free hire from DER as part of a new motor deal. First program I taped was Sportscene, Dundee v Dundee Utd League Cup final. Couldn't afford many blank tapes though, not much was kept for nostalgia back then!
