Where to stay

Nicosia is not a good base for the TA...you will do it all in a day as it’s just the size of say Paisley. The game will be played at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia, 23k capacity ground.

Larnaca closest resort to the ground by Bus...40 mins...plenty of bars and restaurants will be open and although a smaller resort there are decent hotels but not of the high end spec.

Limassol again 75mins by Bus...2nd largest city with 8km seafront with bars and restaurants and a new high end marina. Plenty of hotels here including the islands most expensive ones.

Paphos, 2hours+ by Bus....remains open for tourists all year round although they are mainly All Inclusive so some bars and clubs do shut...most winter packages available by tour companies are to Paphos.

Ayia Napa 60 mins by bus ...forget it....it is virtually all shut down for winter less a few bars on the main drag and by the harbour and a few AI hotels.

I will be staying in a Larnaca hotel for the weekend even though my house is just 15mins away....

Davy, thanks for your local advice, we`ve just booked Jet2 from Stansted and 4 nights in Larnaca, let us know where you`ll be for a well deserved pint for all the work you put in to making things happen

Looked at larnaca but living in Manchester we found direct flights to Paphos (and thus avoiding the chance of missing connecting flights in Germany/Austria) so we have book Manchester - Paphos.

Thanks, we live near Watford ( yes that 6-0 Watford but it was a great day out - until about 5.15) so Stansted is a zip round M25 for us

Four of us staying in Limassol, managed to get flights booked pretty reasonably on Sunday evening, Glasgow>Luton>Larnaca on way out, Paphos>LGW>Glasgow on way back. £255 a head. Granted, I didn't realise Whizz air, who are doing the england to cyprus and cyprus to england legs, were notorious flight cancelling cunts, but we shall see how it goes.

Holidayed in Paphos in May, was class, but wanted to try a different part of the island, so Limassol it is. Hoping a decent amount of us will also be there, expect we will be en mass in all the main locales.
