runningtings
I see that Israel beat Guatemala 7-0 tonight, how come they managed to get opposition like that and we got Belgium and Portugal? Anyway, I think they will be way too strong for our depleted squad.
Chripper
Because the only thing the SFA care about is £££. They would rather rake it in than have a confident squad.
runningtings
Well I think it has backfired big style, we'll see though I can't see McLeish lasting much longer which will cost them money to punt him.

andyD
Look like Israel came thru the game basically unscathed too, no helpful injuries from our point of view.

We are pathetic if this is what it has come to. Israel isn't even in Europe either

Israel struggle to get anyone of note to come and play them in Israel for friendlies (they seem to play the likes of Romania, Ukraine and Moldova time and again).... mainly due to the big teams having the clubs refuse to let them take their star players to the middle east just for a friendly match (just look at the Argentina friendly they arranged before the world cup). So thats one part of it, while there is a degree of truth that the SFA did chase some money getting Belgium and Portugal.
