He got hammered for getting conned into some sort of Christian/Buddhist bullshit and expressing it with the eloquence of someone who was very good at kicking a ball. Bible-believing Christians don't believe in having a 'previous life'. Mormons, however, actually believe that black people are black because they didn't fight well enough against Lucifer when he and a third of the angels rebelled in heaven against God. Through Eileen Drewery he progressed from "mainstream" Christianity to "radical" evangelism Ergo - he was on the way to being a born again Christian and got sidetracked https://www.independent.co.uk/news/glenn-hoddle-the-trouble-with-glenn-1077340.html

Scotty CTA
Faith (plus the fact that you'll know yourself a split second after you shuffle off this mortal coil.) And how do I know that? Faith.
Chripper
Yeah..... Could we just leave religion, etc, out of this thread, please? Yes, he made comments in the past, but he who is without sin... and all that jazz. Anyway. Absolutely unbelievable player and he did really well with England as manager. Hopefully he makes a 100% recovery.

duncan II
Some terrific strikes there I haven't seen in years. But my favourite, I think, is the turn and deft chip against Watford. Thing of pure beauty.

And then 1.07: keeper, header, header, volley, ball touches the earth at the back of the net, Shilton wonders who to blame. Duncan II's use of 'beauty' is bang on - Hoddle brought it to the game again and again.

Jim Beem
Quite nostalgic watching that as a football daft kid growing up in the early 80s. The two that stick in my mind are the chip against Watford and the volley after a one two with Ardilles. Like him or not he was an outstanding player. Also, I much preferred the time when football managers dressed in suits that made them look like extras in The Sweeney 👍
