Richard Leonard is utterly clueless. He has more chance of walking on Mars than becoming the next First Minister. It just shows how out of touch he is that he has made such a statement or perhaps it is all front and BS to big daddy watching from Westminster? Labour were the third party in Scotland last time around and all opinion polls on the next general election show Labour forecast to lose the majority of their seats to the SNP. Just to show how out of touch he is with the Scottish public he has chosen to alienate not that much under half of the voting population who support independence as he says Labour won't support another Scottish IndyRef. Whit an arse.

If I were a betting man then I'd wager he voted against devolution and in favour of leaving the EU.

When he was a union official wasn't he also deeply involved in diddling Glasgow's female council workers out of their rightful entitlements about 10/20 years ago and now the SNP has the nightmare job of finding the money to compensate them for ?

Looks like the branch office simply haven't learned their lessons from 2015.

Just wish Labour in Scotland would fuck off and die a horrible death.

They just have no grasp on what Scots want from their political parties. Almost half the country want independence but they are saying it is not up for discussion. Ken Livingstone may have been a controversial figure but he was spot on during TV coverage of the penultimate General Election when Labour almost got wiped out in Scotland. He hit the nail on the head saying Scottish Labour needed to cut all ties with the Westminster branch of the party and look to appeal more to Scottish voters. They still haven't done that and they'll continue to decay and rot in the meantime.

There is no logic other than blind unionism as to why Labour oppose Scottish Independence so virulently.

Labour has, as far as I know, backed the independence of every other state in the world. Corbyn also backs NI leaving the UK. And yet when it comes to Scotland it's a total everlasting no.

At least some like Henry McLeish can see the need for Labour to change, but they are seemingly a tiny minority.

Until the rest of Labour wake up, then they will remain irrelevant and doomed in Scotland.
