UEFA events are based on UEFA co-efficient, which is ranked slightly different than the World Ranks, so will not have much any effect on us, with the World Ranks not that important to us until next World Cup draw next July. FIFA recently changed the ranking system (this is the first time the new system has been used to calculate the new format) which was done to stop teams like Wales manipulating their friendlies in such a way that it saw them shooting up the rankings. Last time they changed it was at the tail end of the Vogts era, and we went from something like 85th to 40th in the space of a month. The seeding pots for the Euro 2020 qualifying groups will be based on the final rankings of the Nations League. If we win our group we will be guaranteed pot 3. If we finish bottom of our group we will be in pot 4. If we finish 2nd we will either be in pot 3 or 4 depending on whether we are one of the two best placed runners up or not.
