Apart from the game, had a lovely few days in the Principality with my gf. Such a friendly place. And one other little bit of (non-football) info, I believe the Crown Princess there, Sophie, is the current legitimate Jacobite line of descent...(or due to be the next one when her uncle dies)... Sophie Queen of Scots ?? 😏 (She was at our game there) Who was she supporting?

Yup. .250 behind, so if RSB lose their last game, they won’t pick up any more points in Europe this year. If Celtic or Rangers pick up a draw between them, it’s a tie for the fabled 19th place. Not sure what the decider would be if they finish level, but that is how it would stand. If the Scottish teams pick up anything more than that and the Serbs lose at home to PSG, 19th place is pretty much secure. PSG need at least a point to be sure of qualification I think. 18th is Cyprus (just under 2.5 points ahead, both teams going out but have final matches where they could pick up points). May be a bridge too far this season unless someone gets to the QFs which would mean not only points picked up for good results in the round of 32, but also a bonus point for reaching that far. I don’t really like football. I just love the coefficients system.

Or at the end of match day 6?

Clyde1998
After five group matches. In response to the question about when bonus points get added, I'm fairly certain it's when the stage finishes too. I've included the bonus points that will be added after the group stages in brackets for countries that have teams who have qualified for the Champions League knockout stage (twelve of sixteen teams are confirmed) to show the impact that those points will have. There are no bonus points for the Europa League until the quarter-finals. Duncan Blackheart
A win or two draws on Thursday night sees Scotland into the much fabled 19th position. Serbia papped out of Europe tonight, so we’d definitely finish above them if we pick up those points. Unlikely anyone else will finish above us if we get there, too. Unlikely, but not impossible! But we've earned more points this season than Greece (14th) has earned in any of the past five. 14th would get us an extra Champions League spot, so it's a sign of progress being made. Potential ignorance here, but wouldn't 1 draw be enough? 1 point divided by 4 would be 1/4 of a point, and we only need 1/8 of a point to draw level with Serbia. Would be looking for an Old Firm Europa League final to be hitting those heights Actually, you get bonus points for hitting the quarters, semis and finals, so an Old Firm quarter final show down should see us shoot up the rankings. Easy peasy. Edited December 12, 2018 by Tartan_McCole

My spreadsheet is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1thIAAcmXqreI529IccUBDJ57FtK4rkgDilAuD0-0itc/edit?usp=sharing Greece are on 27.000 points in total. Our points this season is 6.750 - which is the equivalent of a quarter of Greece's total. Greece still have two teams in the Europa League; both on whom are in the position to drop out of the competition. We won't reach 14th this season, but there's an outside chance that we could reach it next season.

Duncan Blackheart
I think if Celtic do get through the next round, they win a whole extra point for Scotland on top of whatever they pick up while going through. Belarus have BATE Borisov in next round; Sweden have Malmö. Both in Europa League. Cypriot teams all out.
RenfrewBlue
Judging by how far outclassed they were, I'd say Celtic's hopes of getting through the next round will depend very heavily on who they draw.

There aren't many teams left as good as the side we played tonight. However, most of the teams we can get will start as favourites. We badly need a left winger and 2 forwards in January but it's tricky to sign good players that haven't already played in the competition.
