Its clear that a new manager wont be coming in until the summer, along with the new chief exc. You only have to look at Man Utd to see the pitfalls of changing both positions at the same time. Lawell is a huge figure at Celtic (and Scottish football). He will be a big loss and will take the new guy time to get up to speed. A new manager will have very little time before euro qualifiers to get settled and get transfers in. New DOF is also needed and will have the same issue. New players will have zero time to get up to speed before the season starts. And although he wasnt the on field player of old, the loss of Scott Brown could be massive. You could see the driving force that he was. Especially in games when Celtic werent at their best. Without him in the team Celtic can play some very good football but when games were tight or they were losing, nobody seemed to be able to drive the team on. Compare capt Brown and Capt McGreggor in this regard. And finally there will likely be a big chunk of the 1st team leaving. Celtic realistically need a new GK, LB, RB, 2 CBs, 2 CM and 2 CF. The list of players leaving or potentially leaving is crazy. Celtic will need atleast 10 players in the summer and most of them will have to be first team ready, not squad players. Loans going back - Duffy, Laxalt, Elyounoussi and Kenny Players on 12 months and probably not resigning and will be sold - Édouard, Christie, Ntcham and Ayer Leaving - Brown Long term injury - Julien That is a lot of quality players and starters for Celtic. If they don't get their recruitment spot on this summer, it could be a very tough season for them. Outside of Turnbull, McGregor and Forrest (Julien is out for 9 months so didn't include), I don't think much is left that is guaranteed starter quality.
