saintlyscot Posted July 22, 2018 Share Posted July 22, 2018 I'm sorry to tell of the passing of a dedicated and long time Scotland fan Berty Hally who was a member of The Perthshire Tartan Army. Berty fae Blackford as he was known to travel club members who supported the national team in the 80s and beyond was a huge supporter of football at all levels. He followed the national team home and away and his fun and companionship will be well known to supporters of a certain vintage. Israel in the early 80s was his first away trip and he was immensely proud of how Scottish fans conducted themselves abroad. Bertie will have been at more games than most and was a very unassuming lad who unlike some never bragged about how many games he had attended, points accumulated and the like. He was happy just to be one of the crowd who sought no publicity. I met him on the flight to Tel Aviv all those years ago and saw him at an away game fairly recently within the last few years.
