McTominay started for Man Utd against Liverpool, Robertson didn't start for Liverpool. Liverpool won 4-1, make of that what you like.

I would make the sum total of hee haw of that, other than its good that McTominay is still in Mourinho’s plans. Hopefully he’ll still be starting when the season starts.

Robertson means nothing. He started the other day and was one of their best players. According to Liverpool echo, he came on in the 65min and still managed to get 7 out of 10, as well as winning a penalty

I know, saw the half time ratings and Echo as good as said Moreno was shite.

Didn't quite catch what Mourinho said after game but it went along the lines of "I would sooner eat ice cream"  than watch that Man Utd team play

Of course, the whole squad gets games in pre-season.

Jack Hendry getting praise from Rodgers for last night's performance but then being pilloried in the Daily Record.... Strange

He’s getting invaluable experience -  the type every young centre half needs. He’s got everything to play at the highest level, apart from the necessary hours on the pitch against high calibre  opposition. Him and McKenna both.

Think at first a lot of people just assumed that Celtic signed him as nothing more than a squad player, but does seem to be firmly in Rodgers first team plans, which as you said will pay off for the national team.

While nothing totally outstanding, there does seem to be a long last some light at the end of the tunnel that we could have some half decent central defenders coming through.

Hendry, McKenna, Souttar etc, and if he establishes himself at Hamburg, it will be hard to over look Bates for a call up... with Mulgrew, Berra and even Hanley (who does sound like he has redicovered his form this pre-season) on top of that, certainly starting to look a lot better, for what has been our problem position.

Scott McKenna played very well in both games v Burnley, can see what the fuss is about.

Should be regular starter for national team from this point.

He's shown that he will probably play in EPL one day, which could be sooner rather than later by the looks of tonight.

Championship in short term is more likely, Hull bid in January and now Swansea are talking to Aberdeen.

Just nice to see a young CB stepping up instead of just being hyped.

Mulgrew-Berra done well last few years but obviously isn't a long term option with both over 30.

I thought Devlin, McKenna, Shinnie and Ferguson (maybe not immediately but after a full season) all showed that they could have something to offer the Scotland squad. He'll probably never have the consistency to do much at a level above Aberdeen's but, in flashes, Gary Mackay-Steven can be some threat.

Shinnie has been superb tonight.

Agreed, thought he was superb. Always had him down as a squad guy. Maybe because he moved from lb to midfield all the time but was everywhere and so calm on the ball last night.
