Back on topic, good night for Scott McKenna scoring the winner at Ibrox.

Leigh Griffiths had a penalty saved at Fir Park while Kieran Tierney, despite basically admitting suffering from burn out, was played again by Rodgers. His form has suffered this season as you can see he is knackered. By contrast, magnificent finish by Ryan Christie.

Aye, he's looking a bit jaded, however he was still bombing up and down the park most of the night. Got an assist and, with a bit of a better decision in the final third, could have had a goal.

Aberdeen should be holding out for 15 mill minimum for Scott McKenna... pennies to English clubs really. The guy has the lot.

There's a general contempt in English football for Scottish football.

The chances of an EPL buying Scott McKenna are slim, so it'll be a Championship club for £5m.

There is also the fact that a player's salary helps define the transfer fee. McKenna  will be on peanuts compared to England so if it went to tribunal if out of contract the fee would be related to salary. Clubs know this so offer a low fee or wait till out of contract.

Villa already offered 7.5 million a few months back which was rejected.

Even 10 mill with add ons for appearances and a 10% sell on fee would be good business.

15 million is madness.

He isn’t English and young and they are the only players who go for those inflated fees.

Aberdeen will make big money off him though and doubt he will be in Scotland past January.

He's Scottish and young. Andy Robertson being an absolute stand out, along with McGinn will help push the price up.

On McKenna’s pace. Can’t find the article where McInnes states it, so Arnason will have to do. With the likes of Logan, GMS and McGinn in the team it’s impressive and will bring a lot of cash to Aberdeen.

That's one of the first things I noticed about him was that he was quick. Seen him sprint back a few times to make last ditch saving tackles. Aberdeen must be in a good place financially to turn down  7.5 million whilst building a new stadium. Unheard of in the Scottish game outside Celtic/rangers.

thats not entirely what happened with the 7.5m bid. I think it was villa who basically wanted him as a trialist for 6 months, if they liked what they saw they'd buy him for 7.5m. It was a laughable deal which I am glad aberdeen said no too.

If McKenna keeps up this form, we will be lucky to keep hold of him in January and extremely lucky to hold on to him next summer. barring injury, I reckon he will be at a lower half EPL team next summer

Just watched the first half of Hamburg v Paderborn. Hamburg 1-0 up. Bates is playing but he's hardly been involved as the opposition haven't posed much of a threat. A coulple of good passes out to midfield and covered a couple of runs well. Looks likely it will be another clean sheet for him.

I think McKenna and Bates could be a really strong partnership in the future.
