Liam Cooper was horrrific for Leeds tonight. Up against pace and he was totally exposed. Centre back is a weak area but even weaker if he gets a call up.

Even weaker than who

We haven't got any others left

Which begs the question, what exactly are the SFA and the Scottish clubs DOING?

We're now in a position where we're struggling to name a defender! This is a pathetic situation to be in.

The optimists can point to "project brave", but that all smacks of too little too late. We're currently in a position where the SFA's inaction, incompetence and ambivalence, along with the Scottish clubs lack of basic structure as well as their lack of desire to bring through their young players, the proper way. has put us.

Rangers and Celtic must take the most responsibility. For decades they wasted millions upon millions on foreigners, when they could've easily have build up hundreds of youth academies around the country, training their kids the proper way and doing it in a professional manner. They could've created their own superstars, sold them for millions then then continues the process.

Good rant

We were the 60's, 70's, 80's equivalent of Croatia, and our clubs got to European finals

The model of bringing through your own youth and selling it on to England was perfect

Then we dismantled it

Although it's been awful and worsening for 20 years

See no appetite from the footballing public for any change

Spot on.

One of the (MANY) reasons is because Scottish clubs and their self-preservation ethos. If our top league was larger then it would offer managers more of a chance to blood youngsters, but no, a larger league would equate to less matches per season against the Old Firm... the other 10 teams can't have that!

As long as the SFA, SPFL as well the Scottish clubs all work as individuals and don't do things for the greater good, the deeper Scottish football as well as the Scottish national team will sink.

In life there's a breaking point, but not with football, in football the drop can be eternal.

He does look a promising player who could go onto a higher level in the future. But also he would probably only be choosing us because he wont get a game with England. Certainly worth a shout if he keeps up his form.

Let's face it, most of our players won't get a game with England if they were eligible! I know very little about Che Adams but I hope someone has asked him the question

Doubt it. Has to be a back 4

Why is everyone obsessed with a back 4? What exactly have we qualified for in the past 20 years with a flat back four?

Zilch.

We aren't good enough to play with a flat back four, as down the middle we get exposed. Three in the middle of defence and midfield is the way forward. Once we produce good defenders then we can play with two central defenders. At the moment, our defenders are glorified traffic cones, so play as many traffic cones as we can... just to naturally fill in gaps, if nothing else.

Our inability to keep the ball and obsession with defending deep, leaving space between midfeld and defence, especially away from home is arguably more to blame for our poor defensive record than individual mistakes.

We were fucking hopeless in Israel as a team, regardless of 4 or 5 at the back, approach any game like that and you’ll lose more often than not.

I think he’ll start with Fletcher on Saturday, all going well result wise Patterson will come on for last 15/20 with a view to starting against Israel.

Patterson then starts against Israel, tucks a couple of goals and goes onto score 31 goals for his country as a centre forward.

Am I getting carried away?

I really hope he doesn't start Fletcher, he wasn't even in the fucking squad to begin.

Phillips scored today. Think he's a better player than he's given credit for on here.

No he's shite.

Cairney looking decent for Fulham, up against it at Anfield. Lovely ball in for what should have been the opening goal but was wrongly called offside.

Doesn't seem interested in us

He's just back from injury, this is why McLeish didn't call him up.

Strachan should've called him up many times but he stuck with the same old midfielders. You can hardly blame a player for not playing when he isn't called up.

If he can play for Fulham he can play for us ffs

Watching Glenn Middleton, he seems to be the antithesis of Forrest and Fraser. He's direct, runs at players, beats then and he can cross. People seem to think that Fraser is fast, maybe it's because his short legs go like the clappers! Middleton is fast.

And he can score. (he's scored as I write this)

Fraser is one of the fastest (top 20) players in the EPL which has some of the fastest players in the world, Middleton is fast but it's hard to tell if he his pace stands up against faster players at a higher level. Racing past full backs in the spfl is not comparable to doing it in the EPL. Anyways Middleton does look like a talented player, hopefully he can push on and keep improving.

If/when Fraser drops out I'd call up Middleton as his replacement. He looks fast, super-confident and is delivering for Rangers at league and Euro level.

Fraser is best when he plays through the middle, mainly because he isn't an out-and-out winger who is going to ghost past a fullback and whip in a cross. He might have pace (or maybe not) but he rarely beats players.
