Scottish Players in Action 18/19

Mourinho’s management of Scott McT has been shocking...... thrown right under the bus......... the least experienced player in the Man Utd squad and yet he throws him in at CB where he clearly looks uncomfortable, and at a time when everyone at the club are at a low ebb as it is!

And now he takes him off at half time!!

After pushing him so hard last year and giving him buckets of praise and chances its been a polar opposite this season no real opportunities in CM and then this strange pushing in at CB last 2 games

The fans have already made their mind up about him........... a couple even claimed he is “the worst player they had seen” for Man Utd!

I hope he can recover from this and prove them wrong! There is definitely a talented MIDFIELDER in there.

Aye in defence. He looks like a fish out of water.

Mourinho really can be clueless at times. Can’t be good for McTominay’s confidence.

He actually started in Midfield..... Until Bailly got hauled off for being absolutely atrocious and McTominay got shunted back to Centre Half.

Callum Paterson up front is a far better option than Naismith. Paterson is a physical presence excellent in the air at both ends of the pitch.

C'mon...You can't believe that?!

Paterson has been pretty poor so far at international level and, IMO, if he's not playing right-back he's not really got much of a future for us. As a RM there are lots of better options than him whereas there is very little at full-back.

He's never a forward unless he's put there for the last few minutes when you are chasing a game by launching balls into the box.

Is that what happened? I just assumed he started there as he played at centre back against West Ham.

Still doesn’t make sense to play him there at all.

Paterson is just not international class in any position.....his only real strength is his aerial ability!

Remember watching him at RB against Lithuania at home and he was poor, against better opposition he would be badly exposed.

Yeah mate, shocking management from Mourinho regarding McTominay. He's thrown him to the wolves putting him at centre half and then hauling him off at half time. He actually started the game pretty well in Midfield and was looking far better than Matic who's performance was absolutely dreadful. Very unfair on McTominay and now being made some sort of scapegoat by the fans. He actually looks a good player in Midfield as well. Hope his confidence isn't shot after this

Well, on the other hand, you could argue that Mourinho trusts him?

You could argue that but then that would not explain why he then had him taken off at half time. He struggled against West Ham last week in a back 3 albeit he was still probably the best of the 3 that day. He struggled again though when moved into a back four yesterday. Although more experienced defenders Bailly and Smalling were equally as bad if not worse, especially Bailly. I just fear for his confidence after that. He must have been buzzing to get a start in Midfield and then he is sacrificed when others basically f*** up

He can’t trust him that much. He’s hardly used him this season.

Mourinho is obviously desperate to turn things around and is trying anything by the look of it.
