exile
I just saw some story* about posh toasted cheese going for £8 in a Glasgow restaurant. What are your most or least favourite cases of homely food served up as posh nosh in fancy restaurants? * I can't find the story now. It appeared on some Google news feed (that will teach me to buy telephones with news and adverts), but when I went to look for it online, couldn't find it. I am starting to wonder if it was a story placed or fabricated for the purpose. The restaurant was in Finnieston.

McTeeko
£600 for 6 meals on the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, Hogmanay 2014. Set prices for new year, £100 per head. The ONLY place we could find that had a table available 😩

exile
I found the story https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/glasgow-bar-splits-scotlands-foodies-12602296 Still; funny the way the world turns out. Not so long ago, the thought of Finnieston (then the semi-post-industrial back side of the Clydeside Expressway) being a hipster foodie mecca for toasted cheese would be considered laughable
