Within the same article they claim that Mt Hope is the UKs highest peak, whist at the same time claiming that Ben Nevis is the tallest within the UK. Typical BBC doublespeak. stocky
Mount Hope is the UK's Highest Peak. Ben Nevis is Great Britain's highest peak.. also the highest peak in the British Isles. The UK . ( legal term) constitutes the Countries of Scotland, and England, the Principality of Wales and the Province of Northern Ireland AND all other dependent Territories. etc etc....... It includes loasda a wee rocks and enclaves around the world as well as some of Antarctica... Hence Mount Hope is in ''other dependent Territories'' so is the Highest in the UK... and Ben Nevis is the Highest in Great Britain, and the British Isles . Toepoke
It's immaterial anyway as you'll never get to Mt Hope due to the impenetrable ice wall...
jailender
In that case, how do we know it's there?

Armchair Bob
Who claims Mount Olympus on Mars? If we can get a Scottish expedition then we can sit pretty with the highest mountain on Earth. (Even though it is on Mars).
Armchair Bob
I will tell you what used to fuck me off. The description of Snowdon as the highest mountain in England and Wales. Why stop at England? Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and Belgium. Theres a lot of countries don't know that Snowdon is their highest point.
