Well I've kept renewing over and over again. I reached 10 pts for a while too but cannot afford to travel like i used to. I have often asked for points for home games so if that is brought in, good. But the renewal cost needs to be much lower, i think £10 per season would be much more reasonable and at that level i would definitely renew. Otherwise this might be the end for me after a very long time.

Chances of reducing it to a tenner? Hmmmm....

It won't go up in price. Might possibly reduce or maybe a bigger earlybird discount.

Not much time left for an earlybird discount.

You just know the email will go out at the same time that the 'out of office' goes on for Christmas.

After nearly 25 years membership, I’m thinking about packing it in.  When it was a tenner a season I was happy and would still be happy to pay.  It was originally just meant to be an admin fee.  It has somehow evolved to be some other commercial money maker for the sfa offering their tat....  no I don’t want another crap tshirt that goes straight in the bin or money off other rubbish I don’t want.  I want tickets for games.

the sfa marketing team are incompetent and treat the fans like imbeciles.  The fact is the product is over priced.  We have become $hit and yet the price has risen enormously.  I only went to one game last campaign for various reasons - I work and often work away during the week.    It’s just becoming not worth it sadly.  And don’t get me started on season tickets.... joke.

I joined just before Euro 92 as well and agree 100%

Would add that we have no manager (when we do it will be a damp squib anyway) and possibly soon to have no National Stadium

No World Class player in my lifetime (50 years) (the last we had were born before me) and with pathetic facilities for youth development that wont be changing anytime soon

Our standard of domestic football (in the main) is now on a par with Luxembourg and Lichtenstein

Why exactly would i want to give the SFA another £50-£60 for them to trouser ?

How about on a par with Luxembourg and soon to be Liechtenstein if things continue the way they are going ?

Take out Celtic and what is left ?

Vast mediocrity that we think is better than it actually is despite the early European rounds our representatives were in ?

For example - In their last 7 games in between a couple of gubbings away to Holland and Sweden (could easily happen to us) Luxembourg have beaten Albania, Belarus and Hungary as well as drawing with France and Bulgaria

Think they're aiming for mid/end of this month. I am amazed that they've delayed this as it brings in cash for them but with no manager or fixtures it will not be an easy sell.

I think you've answered your own question there Martin.

I really can't see the benefits of being a member any longer unless you plan to do a load of away games.  If you just attend home matches only then a waste of money.

That has always been the case though. The only time you really needed a membership for home matches was France and Italy.

Joined just before Euro 1992

Met Marjory Nimmo in Gothenburg and when i introduced myself she remembered where i came from

She was an absolute angel for all travelling fans and a lovely person

The decline started when she left and they commercialised it

Have renewed the last twice purely out of longevity

The likelihood of us having any success grows weaker as the standard of our football gets poorer with no light on the horizon

I guess its a cyclical thing with fans - you get to a point where they wear you down enough to chuck it but there is a younger more naive wannabe fan in the background to take your place

I really cant see any incentive

Probably still worth renewing membership,if they don't put the price up.

Match tickets are a fiver cheaper with no booking fees for members , so if you intend to go to most of the home games you make your membership back over the two years.

However ,with most of the games  moved away from Saturday I can see why many members won't get their money's worth if they can't make midweek matches .
