DoonTheSlope
Who tips taxi's and what's reasonable I'll only use a taxi as last resort or occasionally I've woken up with a taxi receipt when I've used my card. I'll rarely ever tip them though

ParisInAKilt
Normally always tip if paying by cash. Better than awkwardly waiting for 50p change.

euan2020
I'm just thinking out loud why are we expected to tip taxi drivers, (i know its based on personal service) but not checkout assistant, shoe sales assistant, suit sales assistant, bank worker, bus driver etc etc when they are actually probably giving a better service although when i worked in bank, seen some old biddies offering me money for helping them - accepted on basis was going to buy fruit & sweets for my colleagues. Armchair Bob
I usually tip a driver in Glasgow but Edinburgh taxis are so expensive I resent shelling out any more than the advertised fare. Also night rates start at 6pm which is a bit early!
